We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Tripp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe the success of my brand is not only in delivering excellent work for my clients, but truly having a ‘love and serve’ mindset for my couples and families. I want my clients to not only love their memories captured, but most importantly remember the experience they had with me during our time together. As a wedding photographer, I want to be with my couples every step of the way throughout the wedding planning process. From our initial client consultation, I strive to connect and develop an authentic relationship with each client. More often than not, once the wedding day rolls around, my clients have become more like friends. This creates such an easy and relaxed atmosphere to create genuine and joyful images from the wedding day. Delivering beautiful photos from their special day is just the cherry on top! Staying focused on loving and serving my clients well is truly the backbone and ‘why’ of my business. At the end of the day, capturing beautiful images is great, but the most important factor behind the success of my business is the experience my clients have with me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I taught myself how to use my DSLR camera a few years ago and after my very first session, I was hooked! I knew I had found what set my soul on fire and started my photography business shortly after. Since then, I’ve been focused on refining my skills and continuing to learn some from amazing industry educators, while also growing my little business and connecting with new clients! My days are often spent between editing galleries, responding to inquiries, wedding timeline planning, consultation meetings, and more! I also make it a priority to set some time aside each week for education and reading. I also love to network with other industry professionals through a few different local organizations. I have met some amazing entrepreneurs through this business! I love the freedom I have to decide what my day looks like. Looking back, I’m so proud of how I got here today. There have been many ups and downs, good and bad days, and a lot of lessons learned along the way. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve learned as a small business owner. I’m proud of running my business legally and ethically, and always staying focused on loving and serving my clients above all else.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to show off our beautiful city any chance I get! Growing up in DFW, I’m a little partial to how great our metroplex is. There are so many great places to eat and sights to see, DFW always knows how to show someone a great visit! During the fall, a trip to the Texas State Fair to get a Fletcher’s corny dog is a must! For me, this always marks the start of fall and I look forward to going each year. I always enjoy taking friends to a Mavs or Stars game at AAC, or a Rangers game if it’s summertime! There are so many great (and local!) places to eat, and unique neighborhoods to visit. I always love to take visitors to Deep Ellum for some fun dinner spots like Niwa Japanese BBQ or Deep Sushi. While in the neighborhood, it’s always fun to walk around and see the beautiful murals painted along the buildings. On Saturday mornings, a trip to the Dallas Farmers Market is always enjoyable. While there, buying a new plant from Rubials is a must! Of course, no visit is complete without a trip to Northpark!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Jesica Clay with Jesica Clay Photography has been the biggest blessing for my photography business! I recently took the leap into taking my business full time and she has been the best mentor and friend along the way. I’m so thankful for the amazing group of creatives I’ve been able to connect with since starting this journey and I’m so thankful for Jesica’s constant guidance, encouragement, and support!
