We had the good fortune of connecting with Deanna Fernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deanna, how does your business help the community?
I am a Christian and it’s important to me that God’s light shines through me wherever I am. Be it at home, work or in the grocery store, I always try to see people the way God sees them and share His love. Our world is ever changing and can be scary and uncertain at times. I want to bring positivity and joy to the world and those around me whenever I have the opportunity. I love meeting new people! By having my own private studio, I have a chance to be one on one with people and get to know them. The name of my business comes from one of my favorite verses in the Bible – Psalm 34:5 which says “Those who look to Him are Radiant, their faces are not covered in shame”
We all have some insecurities about our looks. My job as an aesthetic nurse is to help people enhance their own natural beauty. Radiance comes from within though. It is a joy inside of us that shows on our faces. Women need to hear that they are beautiful and radiant. They need to be reminded that they are loved and adored by God. I want them to feel like this is a safe place when they are here with me.
This business is truly a ministry to me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I’ve been a registered nurse for 20 years with most of my nursing being an ICU nurse. I am still employed as an ICU nurse and work a couple of days a month at Medical City Ft Worth.

I immediately fell in love with aesthetics in 2015 when I got Botox for the first time and personally experienced my own incredible results! I felt much more confident and loved the way it smoothed out my wrinkles and gave my skin a new look.

I decided then that I wanted to pursue a career in aesthetics to be able help women feel more confident like I did, but I lived in a very small town at the time (population 1300) and I just couldn’t make it work there. Aesthetic’s was more of a ‘secret’ thing that nobody wanted talked about.

In 2017 I decided to start the process anyway and I got my basic aesthetic certification and dabbled with it on and off for several years but never doing it full time.

Our oldest daughter lives in Weatherford. She is the head volleyball and track coach at Milsap. She had our first grandchild in May of 2021 and we were burning up the highways coming to visit her! We decided to move to Weatherford not long after she was born so that we could be an active part of their lives. I knew I could make a career in Aesthetics work here so I took a refresher course and several more advanced trainings to learn newer techniques, like using cannula’s for dermal fillers and new injection techniques for lip filler.

I also decided to implement IV Vitamin therapy into my business at the recommendation of my medical director since IV’s were already a part of my skill set.

I completed these trainings while working on all of the backend things required to start my own business and with much prayer and hard work, in June of 2022 God had lined everything up and I opened the doors to Radiant Aesthetics offering Botox, Fillers, and IV Vitamin Therapy. I plan to continue to add additional services as my business grows.

I am working on building relationships with my clients and I am making new friends along the way!
I love learning and teaching. Part of being a nurse is educating your patients/clients. I enjoy taking the extra time to teach my clients about aesthetics and educate them about their treatments. My clients have expressed to me time and time again that they have never been treated this way and how much they appreciate me taking the extra time to do this.

I strive for my clients to have a pleasant experience and leave feeling valued and informed.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are still fairly new to the area so I don’t have as many favorite spots as a local would but we really enjoy trying new restaurants and going to outdoor events around Weatherford and Ft Worth.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband is my biggest supporter, my best friend, and also my bookkeeper! He owned his own successful business for many years and he has alot of business experience that I don’t have.
Starting my own business was scary to me but with much prayer and my husbands experience and encouragement it has gone very smoothly!
