We had the good fortune of connecting with David Vargas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, how do you think about risk?
When thinking about risk, I believe that there is no success without risk. Being complacent about where you are in life rarely leads to any big achievements. I understood this when I started my real estate career and quickly found myself in very uncomfortable situations that I had never been in before. Through risk you learn how to face problems and add tools to your tool box.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a Realtor in the DFW area and this is my first year in the business! It is all very exciting and everyday presents a new challenge with a new solution. I got into real estate while I was attending the University of North Texas a year and a half ago. My best friend told me he was also interested in becoming a real estate agent and I saw an opportunity to change my life and start something that I truly wanted to invest my time into. It was a huge risk and risk that has yet to pay off. However, I know that by grinding and putting in the time and effort I will get the results that I’ve earned. I have learned so far that patience is key and that you have to hit a low point so that you are able to really appreciate the highs. I want the world to know that I strive to be the best Realtor and person you could ever meet.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Food is my favorite subject to talk about and in Dallas there are so many places that I love to go to! “La Salsa Verde” near love field has some of the best tacos and I would highly recommend for anyone trying to find a new taco to make their go-to. Having a great a burger while in Dallas is also a must. “Rodeo Goat” has some of the best burgers in town even though I struggle to finish them at time. I have also recently fell in love with Pad Thai and how my mom describes it, “food of the gods”, I highly agree. “Thai Thai Restaurant” in Lower Greenville is my go-to for Pad Thai and the staff has gotten to know my family and I because of how often we go. While I am biased towards this next restaurant because my uncle is the head chef and I worked in the kitchen for a summer, “St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin” has some of the best pasta I have ever tasted. Their Primavera Angel Hair pasta has you wanting to order another plate to go.

Enough of the food, Dallas has such a beautiful skyline that is a pleasure to view from a distance or walk through it downtown. There is a trolley that takes you from the City Center District all the way to Uptown that shows you many of the restaurants and parks that you can get off at any stop and explore! From September to October there is only one place to throughout the week, THE STATE FAIR OF TEXAS! The State Fair of Texas has so many things to offer. From food, to rides and even local community groups that have shows or booths with information. It honestly is the best time of the year when the fair rolls around.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When thinking about who deserves credit to my story, I would have to say it would be my family and friends. There are too many people that I can distinctly point to and say that they told or showed me something that has helped me grow into who I am. My family has supported me through the many headaches I have put them through, and have continued to assist me through hard times I go through. My close friends that I consider family as well, have always been supportive in my ideas and applaud me in my successes. My family and friends have always given me constructive criticism that showed me that they aren’t doubting me, but want me to be the best that I can.
