Meet Chase Matthew | I make dubstep

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chase Matthew and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chase, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have spent quite some time being involved in jobs that do not suit me as a human being. I want to be involved somewhere I can let my imagination run wild. I am not one to stick to a script or conform to a set agenda. I cannot be contained because no box will ever hold me. Making music is apart of my soul. I eat, sleep and breathe music. I without a doubt cannot say the same about sending a fax.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Chase Matthew, known “professionally” as anudder planet, is a dubstep/bass music artist based in Columbus, Ohio. My latest single, “UFOHOYA,” has managed to display my ambitious bass sounds and aggressive lead synth style. My love for music has been a long time in the making. I started playing drums when I was younger, and have been hooked since. I love goofing around on the piano and used to play saxophone also. I have always been a massive fan of all types of music. However, my love for EDM (electronic dance music) in particular began to take off when I was a teen. I have always been super intrigued by the way EDM is designed. The vastness of it is beautiful and it seems to be endless. I have always wanted to take that love for music and turn it into something. While anudder planet has yet to fully take off, I have some very cool projects planned for 2022 and I feel my music is getting better day by day, and sounding as good as ever. I measure my success with anudder planet/creating music based on how much joy I get from it, and I cannot put into words how much joy it brings me. So with that being said, I would say I am pretty successful and admitting that is one of the biggest challenges myself and I am sure most other artists face.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My soon to be daughter, Luna!!! She will be born soon and I love her so much already. I have made the commitment to always keep things like music in my life. I want to show her that she can do whatever she wants to do in life, as long as she is happy.
