Where are you from and how did your background and upbringing impact who you are today?

Through our work we have had the good fortune of seeing firsthand how success comes in every shape, size, color, faith, and orientation. More importantly we’ve learned that success is often the result of people embracing their unique backgrounds and so we’ve asked the community to tell us about their background and how it has impacted where they are today.
I was born to a middle-class family from West Africa Cameroon in a town called Bamenda. As you would guess I am a Cameroonian. Growing up a in music influenced home with elder siblins who at the time were able to steal money from my dads wallets and mums purse to buy cassets. I was born in Fort Worth, Texas but I was raised here in Arlington, Texas my whole life. I grew up cutting yards with my dad all over the Arlington area for his lawn care business. He was an immigrant from Mexico who came to the states for a better opportunity at life. So, he’s always been work oriented. Read more>>
I’m a native of Wichita, Kansas who moved to Dallas by way of Atlanta in 2005. I was raised in a single family household where my mother worked extremely hard to make sure her five children knew what it meant to work hard and to use our God given gifts and talents. My wife is originally from Vietnam and I am originally from Myanmar (Burma). We both came to the United States as immigrants with our parents when we were young children with nearly no possessions of our own. Read more>>

My upbringing is very interesting. I was born in Texas, raised in the DMV (East Coast), and my parents are from El Salvador. So I literally have all these different types of cultures that defined me because they were my upbringing. I see things differently than the average person. Read more>>
I’m from Paris, Tx. I have always done music growing up, Through school band and church playing the drums. so I can say music has been something I’ve invested most of my life too. I had and older cousin that took the time to teach me to play and after that I just stuck with it. Read more>>
