Melody Tarver | Creative Director

First off, I come from a family of entrepreneurs. When I was a kid, my father opened up an auto body shop and restored vintage cars. My mother had an in-home day care. Currently, my brother owns a booming organic farm in Granbury. Initially, I was a freelance creative director for many years. One of my mentors suggested that I take that path after being laid off from ad agency world. I’m so grateful that I took his advice. I am a deeply creative person and over the years I have worked on reinventing myself and cultivating who I am. It has been through that lens that I saw an opportunity to do all of the things I love to do, from curating beautiful spaces to designing for national magazines to art directing photo shoots and working on brands both large and small. I wanted to invest in myself and learn something I would be teach my daughters and leave a legacy for them. I started learning to make candles in 2019 but did not have the drive and focus to truly learn and perfect the craft. The weekend before I turned 40, I went to Atlanta, GA and took a 1 on 1 class with a well-known African American Chandler, who took the time to pour into me with a wealth of knowledge. From that, I have been able to put into practice what I have learned and producing my candle line. Read more>>

Dre Davis | Creator of “Transplant™️“/ Brand Ambassador

My idea was to create T Shirts for myself that differed from some other online shops. The designs that I saw were not on the beat quality t shirts or they when shipped, the item differed from what I originally saw. Once I actually decided to make some t shirts, I asked myself, “What would my shirts say about me?” That’s where the idea of making a brand about transplants, the idea of “transplanting” or making a move and planting new roots came from. Shanie Salmon-Godfrey | Business & Financial Educator

Starting my business is one of the best things that I have done in my life. I made the decision to start my business, after years of working in corporations in a leadership role. throughout my years as an employee, I witnessed people losing their jobs. Sometimes for reasons beyond their control, corporate politics, or leadership insecurities. I wanted to create a company culture that people enjoy working in. A culture that allows people to develop their gifts and talents. Where entrepreneurs are welcome, to pursue what they love, with a group of like-minded people, who wants to see them win. Read more>>

Emily Curtin | Artist

I fully expected to pursue the traditional “American Dream” by going to college, starting a career, getting married, buying a house, and filling it with dogs and the expected 2.5 kids. However, my life didn’t unfold this way, and for that, I’m very grateful. I wouldn’t change it for the world. In general, I’m risk-averse and prefer to go with the flow. Unfortunately, that style can make it difficult as an artist to achieve both your personal and career goals. In fact, just mentioning that I’m an artist solicits questions about “But, what’s your real job?”. While, being an artist isn’t common, it is a career that I’m very proud of. I did not initially set out to start a business. I majored in art and later married a tattoo artist. I taught art part-time and began showing some of my personal art creations at the tattoo shop. Courtney Anderson | Registered Dietitian Nutritionist & Certified Lactation Counselor

During my undergraduate degree and dietetic internship, I knew outpatient nutrition care had a special place in my heart, specifically outpatient care for the prenatal and postpartum population groups. When I became a registered dietitian and started applying for jobs, I was disappointed at the lack of opportunities for outpatient dietetics in my area. I saw a gap in nutrition care, so I decided to fill it. My goal is to offer the ultimate nutrition experience for mother and baby- including prenatal nutrition education and breastfeeding classes during pregnancy, then postpartum nutrition education and infant feeding assessments after delivery, while moving on to early feeding and pediatric nutrition when the infant starts solid foods.
