Hi Zav, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The process of coming up with the idea for my clothing brand business was quite extensive. I initially considered various names but ultimately decided to go with my name, Zav Paul. I chose this name because it holds personal significance to me, representing a sense of family and authenticity that I want to convey through my brand. The mascot for my brand is a Chicken Nugget from space, inspired by my favorite food, which crash-landed on Earth. This mascot is meant to evoke feelings of nostalgia and childhood memories from cartoons and video games. Additionally, I’ve already established a growing community through my Twitch streaming channel called the Space Lounge. Everything fell into place naturally, especially since I observed people at gaming events and tournaments wearing high-fashion designer brands. I aim to create a clothing brand that embodies high fashion but with superior quality, catering specifically to the gaming community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hello, everyone. I am Zav Paul, also known as the K-I-D That D-I-D. I am a gamer and a fashion designer specializing in gaming attire.

My introduction to gaming occurred at a young age, starting with the Super Nintendo, Gameboys, Sega Dreamcast, and the original Xbox, courtesy of my uncle. I continued to engage in video games incessantly and eventually commenced online gaming with individuals globally. On January 6th, 2015, I came across Twitch and began consistent live streaming. Although I took intermittent breaks to address personal matters, my objective remains to create a secure environment for individuals to unwind, escape real-life concerns, and engage in light-hearted conversations about upcoming movies, video games, and music.

In addition to live streaming on Twitch, I allocate the majority of my time to designing new merchandise and maintaining a creative mindset through activities such as watching cartoons, listening to music, examining sneakers for suitable color schemes for my merchandise releases, and avidly following sports.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To start, we would head over to Rudy’s Chicken, which is a staple for chicken in the city. As a gamer, we would then go to Pinstacks where we could bowl, play some laser tag, and even do some rock climbing if you’re feeling athletic. Additionally, we could visit Round 1 to have a good time messing around with the claw machines and doing some karaoke. Outside of gaming, we could also go get some Korean BBQ and hang out at Top Golf. Ideally, we would plan this around a gaming event like DreamHack, Pax, or Twitch Con so we would have things to do outside of the event.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to recognize and thank several groups of people who have supported me. First and foremost, my family has been my number-one support system from the beginning. They have played a huge part in everything I have accomplished up to this point. Next, I want to acknowledge my friends. Some have been with me since day one, while others I have met along the way. They have all played a key role in helping me reach the next level, whether it’s by taking photos in my merchandise, wearing the merchandise in their music videos, or sharing it on their social media platforms. I also want to give a shout-out to the communities that have supported me, including ORLS Original Lifestyle, 2FZ Family & Franklinz, NFE No Filter Entertainment, and most importantly, OAK CLIFF. Being part of the community and representing my clothing brand in the streets has been crucial in creating a different vibe and showcasing that I’m different. As a gamer from the area, I believe it’s important to motivate the youth and show them that success can be achieved by being true to themselves and that it’s not always about fitting in or following the crowd.
