We had the good fortune of connecting with Zaira Chavez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zaira, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risks play a very important part in my life. I believe EVERYONE should take risks. Life goes by way too fast. Putting yourself in uncomfortable situations is where the real growth is. The confidence follows with you staying true to yourself and not allowing fear/doubt to take over. Many things to be learned on this journey so have fun while you can.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Thank you for taking an interest in my art. Well I would say it’s the way I perceive things in my everyday life. My aesthetic has slowly curated towards more of a nature, free spirited, travel model. I am most proud of all my travel adventures that I’ve been able to make with other amazing creatives. We have been able to create along the way using each other as a source of inspiration for our art. I got to where I am because I network with others. Forming relationships with these amazing people. And also my sense of wonder and wanting more out of life. It’s truly so beautiful, can’t get enough. It has not been easy whatsoever. I believe nothing in life is easy, it’s about how bad you want it. Everything in this universe is already yours, it’s a matter of putting in the work and using that inner fire to make everything flow effortlessly your way when you do things with passion and love. I want the world to know that I am a genuine person. I want everyone to follow their dreams. Nothing is impossible. Remember that YOU are the creator and whatever you want IS yours. My brand is to inspire, to teach others to follow anything their heart desires. Stay true to yourself, there’s no one else like you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First on the list would be going to eat Crush Craft Thai Eats or go get sushi somewhere delicious. Anything Asian food lol. I would then take her to Bethanys to get boba. Hiking, going to a museum of her choice, and visiting boutiques. Go to the park for sunset and skate or if she’s in the mood for a picnic and painting we could do that too. Also going to rooftop bars and catching up.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I truly believe that everyone should read The four agreements. That book has helped me with understanding myself and others. Simple read yet a lot of meaningful information that will help better yourself in ways that you didn’t know it could.
