Meet William Sanchez | Owner of The Cleaning Goat

We had the good fortune of connecting with William Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi William, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I am a teacher by background, but my entrepreneurial spirit was shaped by my family’s business background. My parents own a Mexican Restaurant in Irving, while my aunt also owns a commercial cleaning business.
Growing up, I spent my summers helping my aunt clean the offices at Toyota of Irving, learning valuable skills such as hard work, serving others, and responsibility. After becoming a full-time teacher, I realized that there was little time to clean, and I was inspired to create a house cleaning business that catered to busy professionals like myself. And so, The Cleaning Goat was born, with the goal of providing reliable and efficient cleaning services to individuals from all walks of life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart at The Cleaning Goat is our customer service and attention to detail. Our team of professional cleaners is not only timely but also goes above and beyond to pay attention to the little details that others might miss. We take pride in treating our customers like family, always valuing their business. We understand that it’s more than just cleaning a home—it’s about getting a home ready for a special occasion, whether it’s a birthday party, a realtor preparing a property for a client, or relieving the stress of someone moving out and leaving their home spotless.
What I’m most proud of is how we treat our clients. One experience that stands out is when we cared for a client who had just returned from the hospital and needed a clean, welcoming space to come home to. That’s the essence of what we do at The Cleaning Goat—we’re not just cleaning, we’re providing comfort and peace of mind.
We’ve come this far through sheer effort, countless hours of hard work, and finding a balance between being a full-time teacher and managing a cleaning business. It’s definitely not been easy, but the challenges have taught me the value of perseverance, discipline, and the importance of keeping a positive mindset.
What I want the world to know about me and The Cleaning Goat is that while financial success is always a consideration, the core of our business comes from my servant heart. As a teacher, I’ve learned the value of serving others, and I bring that same mindset into my business. We measure success not just by the work we do, but by the smile and satisfaction of our clients after a clean. That’s what keeps us going and what truly defines our success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Dallas, I’d want to give them an unforgettable week, so here’s how I’d plan it out:
Day 1: We’d kick off the trip with a visit to the Reunion Tower for a breathtaking view of Dallas, especially at sunset when the city lights start to sparkle. It’s the perfect spot to get a lay of the land and take in the skyline.
Day 2: For dinner, we’d head to Monarch Restaurant—a restaurant with a gorgeous view of the city. The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere makes it the perfect place to relax and catch up.
Day 3: No trip to Dallas is complete without checking out a museum, so we’d spend the day at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science—it’s interactive, educational, and fun. If we’re in the mood for something more somber but incredibly moving, we’d also visit the Holocaust Museum to learn more about history and honor those who were affected.
Day 4: We’d take a stroll along Katy Trail to enjoy the fresh air and get some light exercise. It’s a beautiful, peaceful walk that runs through some of Dallas’ best neighborhoods. Afterward, we’d grab a coffee at one of the local cafés nearby.
Day 5: A trip to Las Colinas is on the agenda, where we could take a romantic ride on the Gondola Adventures at night. It’s a relaxing and picturesque way to see a different side of the area, especially under the stars.
Day 6: If we’re sports fans, we’d spend the day at AT&T Stadium, taking a tour of the home of the Dallas Cowboys. It’s massive and impressive, and for a more casual day, we could catch a Dallas Mavericks game at the American Airlines Center—nothing beats the energy of a live game!
Day 7: On the last day, we’d hit up some local spots for shopping and food. I’d take them to Bishop Arts District for some unique shops, art galleries, and delicious eats. We’d end the trip with a night out at a cool rooftop bar or a speakeasy, reminiscing about the week and planning our next adventure.
Dallas has so much to offer, from its history to its vibrant cultural scene and outdoor spaces. Whether we’re exploring museums, enjoying the food scene, or soaking up the city views, this would definitely be a week to remember!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out my wife, Laura, who has been there to support me every step of the way on my journey as a cleaning business owner. When the going gets tough, Laura is always there to encourage me and remind me that nothing great is ever achieved easily. She’s the one with an open ear, offering clarity when I’m facing difficult business decisions, and helping me navigate through the challenges. Her unwavering belief in me and the business plays a huge role in our success. I truly couldn’t have made it this far without her constant support and guidance.
