We had the good fortune of connecting with Warren Cook and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Warren, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think doing what you believe in and letting the people that you are filming be totally honest and who they are no matter where it leads. I think sticking true to our name and missions statement—Make Something Beautiful. You know, making something that is adding to the community or someones life not just creating noise for the sake of building a business. People come to us because they believe in what we are doing and we have been very fortunate to be doing what we love. And it is our team we have that create in a symphony of passion and style.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our art. Our art is storytelling for companies/brands.
I think what sets us apart really is how we love to highlight the heart and passion of the person in front of the camera no matter where it leads. Our style is very, Norman Rockwell meets Wes Anderson with a little John Hughs thrown in the mix. We like to tell a story in each of our frames… so very planned out. And I think we look for fun, make people smile and remember the spots. Everyone wants to smile.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way. Gosh, plan, plan, listen, adapt. You could be onset and planned everything out and then when you get there and get the camera up, something feels off. Take the time to find the magic setting even if it delays you.
I want people to know, Make Something Beautiful is more than just a film/video/brand company we are on a mission to create something bigger than ourselves, we love partnering with agencies, big brands to tell their stories that align with our vision.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife Jules, the producer, the coordinator, the person that gets all our projects scheduled, lined up and makes sure where we all need to go. She is truly been an encouragement for our business.
