We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Bouché and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vanessa, what inspires you?
I am inspired by people! People who overcome extreme adversity, people who choose a life of emotional, spiritual, and relational wealth over financial wealth, people who are ambitious for restorative justice rather than self-centered gain, people who live by example and not empty exhortations, people who take the long-road and the long-view over expediency and immediate gratification. Human beings are so beautiful in all their complexity and diversity and I am inspired by people every. single. day.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Savhera’s turns the sales of premium, organic aromatherapy and natural wellness products into jobs for women who have overcome sex trafficking. There is no other wellness company that does business like we do. Between our USDA certified organic products, our B-Corp status, and our affiliations with the Freedom Business Alliance, Savhera is prepared to compete in a growing market by differentiating itself as a values-driven, premium social impact company that transforms the lives of every one of our stakeholders from our customers to our employees to everyone in between.
Our business model is unique and there has been nothing easy about it! However, we are a company of overcomers, and we continue to overcome every single day because of our mission. When a company takes a human-centered approach, there is no option but to overcome and continue to see lives flourish and hope renewed.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would spend the first day chillin’ at my house catching up over some fun drinks by the pool. No rushing, no agenda, just quality time with quality people! The next two days we would venture to Fort Worth. We would get coffee at Avoca, visit the Stockyards, the water gardens, and the Kimball where we would have brunch. We would visit the Fort Worth Zoo, grab a drink and maybe some appetizers at Woodshed Smokehouse, then head to Joe Ts for dinner. We would go dancing at Billy Bobs for sure. The next two days would be all Dallas! I might want to get a room at the W just for a fun night out and we’d eat at all the great places (too many to list). I’d want her to experience the 6th Floor Museum, Reunion Tower, The Arboretum, Bishop Arts District, and Klyde Warren Park. Of course, we’d also head to the Dallas Farmer’s Market to visit the Savhera weekend pop-up! Then we’d probably spend a minute doing all the sporting stuff, maybe take in a Cowboys game, a Mavericks game, a Stars game, or a FC Dallas game (depending on the season). Ideally, we would fit in a spa day and do some hot yoga, too.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is dedicated to my partner in justice for 25 years, my best friend, and my closest confidante, Noel Bouché. You inspire me every day.
