We had the good fortune of connecting with Tristan Abbott & Max Billington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tristan & Max, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Evolve or Die!”

This quote was taken from a cartoon years ago with animals who are leaving their habitats who were short on food and the largest group was reluctant to leave. One of the splinter groups turned around to the big group and told them to evolve or die.

If you don’t keep up with the latest technological trends, others in media with surpass you. Any business, if it doesn’t utilize new methods of marketing, they waste their marketing dollars on the old methods which will eventually sputter out and die.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We started the podcast off as something we were not sure whether or not we would even want to do it, as most podcasters do. There is a “podfade” where most podcasts that start never make it past seven episodes. In fact, some don’t make it past one episode.

We have made improvements to our production, but we still don’t take ourselves too seriously, which we think is part of our growth in followers and listeners. We can be serious and speak to political candidates and then the very next episode talk about mythical sea creatures.

While we would like for this to eventually become our full time job, we have kept our day jobs which allow us to continue to enjoy what we do and we are not answerable to anyone but ourselves. We made an agreement that when this no longer was fun, we would stop.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would take them to downtown Fort Worth during the day so they could see the old stockyards. After that, we would take them to Aurora, Texas to eat at Smoking Windmill BBQ while sipping on an Alien Ale beer from Martian Margaritas, all of which are located at Area 114, just a short bit away from the UFO crash back in the 19th century.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our friends were largely supportive of our interest and experimentation delving into the realm of podcasting. There have been consistently supportive fans as we have grown giving us feedback and ideas for the show.
