We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Savannah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I started WTHI in 2018. I was a new mom, newly unemployed and determined to follow my passions. It started small, working for friends, family and often for free just to be able to obtain the experience. I look back now at those early “designs” and just laugh! My skill has definitely advanced to say the least, Design has always been my hobby, my passion and desire, but I often felt discouraged and disheartened by those who would say “Never make your hobby, your career” or “you can’t make a living decorating houses”. Once I stopped listening to the nay-sayers, and started focusing on what I wanted, the growth was astounding.

I realized me as one person, would never be able to do it alone, so I started the hiring process that every small business goes through. I am happy to say that now I have an undeniably amazing team of ladies working with me. With an administrative coordinator, two designers, and a budding intern. It feels like some days we are truly unstoppable. I know that if I had not taken that risk, that leap, into hiring help, I would have never seen the growth like I have.

What should our readers know about your business?
Where the Heart Is specializes in Home Staging and Interior Design. Our Interior design process is a complimentary consultation, a free online style quiz, custom mood boards, and a custom shopping list. Clients love that they can understand their style and receive a great visual from us to represent that. For our Home Staging Clients, we work hand in hand with real estate agents, we understand that the ultimate goal is to get a home sold as quickly as possible. we do not sway from the belief no matter what the market is doing.

What sets us apart from others is, alone, our slogan. “Beautiful, affordable and functional” because that is what we have to offer to every one of our clients. A magazine worthy home within your customized budget. We believe everyone should have their “dream home” and it should not cost you your life savings. I find that the most thing we are, as a team, are excited about it is how much of a organic growth we have recently have had. Whether it be through word of mouth, referrals, social media followers, it is amazing to know that we are reaching out into the community and making a name for ourselves. It was not easy, to get where we are today. The challenges of being a new mom, and a unemployed one at that; I was determined to follow my passion. Having to listen to those who would say “Never make your hobby, your career” or “you can’t make a living out of just decorating houses”; once I stopped listening tot he nay-sayers and started to just focus on what I wanted and what I wanted for this business, that is when the growth was astounding.

What we want the world to know about our brand and our story is something you here all the time. “Our brand is so much more different than others…” but in our case; its the truth. We have specifically built the brand that way. Our brand IS one of a kind because it is made up of a team with dreams that are one of a kind. The hours we put in, the love we pour into the brand and to each individual design, the feeling of family that bonds us and our clients, all of it. It all sets us aside from the rest. We are proud to represent the Where the Heart Is Brand!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a fun girls night with the team, we love to get a good meal and drink at Gemelle’s. The ambiance is amazing, the outdoor area is its own personal oasis, and the selfie game is strong!

For a high end client shopping trip, we like to walk the sparkly sidewalks of The Shops at Clearfork! Their one of a kind stores like Wrare and Arhaus are sure to deliver that shopping fix.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The definition of “team” means to come together as a team to achieve a common goal. When it comes to Where the Heart Is, we would not be where we are today without our amazing team. Two minds are better than one, but you ought to see it when 5 women with a passion for design get into a room together. The support of a team is similar to the support of a family, and in most ways, we are a family. Each of us bringing our own style and design into the company. We know that if we ever need something, we can call on each other to lift us up or help us out. Our team puts the HEART in Where the Heart Is and we wouldn’t be the company we are today without them
