We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevor Houston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trevor, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?Yes, Yes, many financial professionals target the affluent; doctors, lawyers, business owners and high net worth individuals. At ClearPath Wealth Strategies we are different and here is why…

Years ago, while attending a networking event for professionals in a career transition, we saw people hurting and decided to do something about it. We met people who were passionate, hard-working, and intelligent—but were also frustrated, afraid, and in need of clarity when it comes to financial matters. The more we talked and helped people through their transition the more we knew it was what we wanted to focus on.

At ClearPath Wealth Strategies, we serve the often-ignored average American, where we specialize in retirement planning and 401k options and helping job seekers take control of the financial impact of career transition.

What should our readers know about your business?
Being a Job seeker is a vulnerable place to be. We have dedicated our time to understanding their financial worries and concerns. A career transition can be hard…

Sometimes the way ahead is unclear and filled with uncertainty.

Many job seekers are stressed, worried and wondering;

  • How long will the job search take?
  • How much of my savings will I have to use?
  • What do I do with my 401(k), severance or pension?
  • What happens to my health & insurance benefits?
  • How long will it take to recover?

We are here to help them navigate the uncertainty

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to our studio, Real News PR, the McKinney Square, Shops of Legacy and Legacy West, Cowboys Club and the Star in Frisco. I might even take them to Little Elm beach or Hidden cove in Frisco.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my father, Glen Houston. My story started very rough…

I was 8 when my parents divorced, and my mom received custody. She was disabled, so we had various roommates help her pay the bills. Between the ages of 8 – 16, I had been molested, started smoking cigarettes and drinking, walked in on my brother attempting suicide, started smoking pot with my mom, went to jail for fighting and was sent to alternative school.

Things were pretty much chaos and it wasn’t until I violated my probation, went back to Juvi and was forced to move with my father that things started to turn around. He taught me how to work hard, save, have discipline, control my anger and so much more. I owe my life to him.

I would probably be in jail or worse if it were not for him. He gave me a second chance at life, I took it and ran with it!
