We had the good fortune of connecting with Trea Feist and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TREA, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well I am Texas born and raised, Army Veteran and a bartender by trade, I really got tired of making other peoples dreams come true and decided to give myself a shot! Seeing these big premium brands that were just branding and packed with super sugary and “natural flavor” additives gave me an idea to get out from behind the bar and take a shot at my own dreams.

I am not the biggest Vodka fan, specifically because I never had a Vodka that I could sip on by itself and actually enjoy. So I said you know what if I can make a Vodka that I can sip on that is clean and smooth but also has some sort of flavor without the fake “natural flavors” and sugars… then I bet we could sell it to anyone!

What should our readers know about your business?
Dank Vodka is The Original Vodka to be infused with Terpene Flavors.

Terpenes are the oils from citrus fruits, they are natural organic compounds found in the rind of the citrus peel, and in majority of plants. When you smell roses, tulips or pine tree’s, you are smelling Terpenes. Terpenes are naturally sweet and full of flavor eliminating the use for sugars or any additives.

Not only do we not use other oily byproducts, we take our time in our filtration and distillation process by using Vapor Absorption Filtration and High Alkaline water. Most brands distill their Vodka 6x and call it a day, or use gimmicks like 20x distilled. What most people do not know is that after 6x distilled you’re not doing anything but striping the spirit of its natural character, making it neutral and flat. Clean Vodka, like Dank Vodka, is made by strong filtration and clean water.

I got to where I am today by working my butt off and chasing my dreams, never letting one thing get me down and always focused 10 years from now on where I want to be. I learned to control the controllable’s and roll with the punches, bad news is only a speed bump it is never a roadblock. It was not easy by any means, my first year in business I could barely bring in $3k a month in revenue and it was my only stream of income. I ran into tons of issues from labels, bottles, flavor, orders not being filled… all kinds of stuff. But that is what starting a business is, a endless stream of putting out one fire and 3 more coming up. I believe it is all on how well you can handle news and how well you can listen to your advisors and peers around you.

I want the world to know that anything is possible, I am a felon (for marijuana) from 13 years ago but I did not let my past define me. I was homeless, just for a couple days here and there, I did not have any money or revenue but I had a dream and a hustlers ambition to make that dream come true. Just like you can dig up a diamond from thousands of years ago and polish it to shine, you can do the same with your life. God plants seeds deep in the dirt and mud for a reason, that seed has to grow through that dirt and mud, if it wants a chance at a trunk of a life.

I saw everything Tito’s did and I said if Burt can do it, I can do it!
Go accomplish what you think you can, and if you don’t succeed AT LEAST YOU TRIED! Which is more than 90% of people do!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d leave the city and take them to my hometown Comanche, Tx. We would prolly hunt or fish during the day then grill and drink beer in the evenings. Go to sleep and wake up and do it all again. Simple Life
