We had the good fortune of connecting with Tinesha Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tinesha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I was in nail school I knew that I wanted to be an entrepreneur but I didn’t have a clue about what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to booth rent, but I didn’t realize the work behind it. Now I am in the mobile nail services and it has been amazing and with Covid 19 it has been a benefit for me as people do not feel comfortable in a salon setting. So quarantine trained me to be more creative!
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a natural nail technician and skincare owner! What sets me apart is I provide and amazing experience! I’m not just here to provide the services, I’m here to educate you on the care of your nails and also have you feeling like a brand new person! I offer mobile services that way you can get your services done in the comfort of your own home! When covid 19 hit I was challenged to rebrand and revamp my business and I haven’t sat still since! Quarantine allowed me to get that second wind I needed for my business! One of my services I am happy about other than traveling in the CBD pedicure! Right now CBD is very popular and I did a lot of research and create my own CBD experience! You will leave so relaxed!!! Being an entrepreneur is extremely hard. You do not become a millionaire overnight lol! You have to invest and put in the work! Yes it is a challenge but planning is what will set you apart! Not giving up is what sets you apart! I took many courses with social media strategist like DFWs own Jacob Clayton who has a course on how to run your business through social media! Pj Owens also had a course about branding which was very beneficial! I also took an amazing course with my mentor J Bolin and it was a one on one and Through those one on ones my whole business structure and attitude changed ! What I learned was “I’m overthinking it” I needed to get out of my own head and my own way and get to work! I want the world to know I’m not just a nail technician! I am a brand! I do more than provide services! I make scrubs, cuticle oil pens as well as custom handmade press ons!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hmmm well besties are so different, but we live for a good brunch so I would take them to the biscuit bar. We would go to a mall because of course they can’t go anywhere without stopping by the mall! I would take them to the galleria mall I love that there is an ice skating rink how fun would it be to see us trying to relive our childhood lol. We would then try another restaurant we love good food! I actually love getting a turkey leg from one of DFWs chefs RJthesauceboss he makes an amazing turkey leg and the sauce is OMG OUT of this world! Then we could go to deep Ellum and hang out! Now once sports comes back we can throw in a cowboys, mavs, or my favorite a rangers game!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this to the amazing J Bolin and his wife Nicole for really sparking a light in me and challenging me to be open for change, to transform and rebrand my business, continue to be myself and shine through and to always remember God promises to us!
