We had the good fortune of connecting with Timothy Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Timothy, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
You never give up! In this world success comes to those that endure. Growing up as an athlete i was always taught that you fight until the end. Failure is nothing more than a way to learn and get better for the next time. So to anyone out there thinking about calling it quits and giving up on their dreams; Don’t, it will all pay off someday.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since I was a child I always loved sports and the athleticism that comes with it. I believe what sets me apart from others is my drive, I will work with an athlete for hours going over every technical aspect of what we need to accomplish to get to where they want to go. One of the things i’m most proud of is finishing as the runner up team at the Wisconsin state championship. we put years into that program and too see them finish so highly was very rewarding. Getting to where i am now wasn’t a smooth road though. Getting injured in college and having to overcome all the set backs that came with it really pushed me toward doing what i do now. It wasn’t something most would consider easy (complete ACL reconstruction) but i worked hard, learned from my therapist on how to get back to my previous level and actually surpassed it. I came back as a better athlete than I was before. Along that journey I learned that i have a true passion for Speed and Jumping. I want to teach others how to become better and that their athleticism can take them wherever they want to go.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I actually haven’t been many places lol. I moved to the area right in the middle of the current pandemic so i haven’t had the chance to try or do many things. One place that i have been though is Legacy hall, i think the atmosphere and food is amazing so hopefully when my friends do come visit we can explore more together.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife, she is the most dedicated, hardworking, amazing women that i know. She is always pushing me to get better. She believes in me more than anyone else and without her there’s absolutely no way that I could do half the things I do. The next is my family, we’ve always been a close nit group and their support never goes unnoticed. Lastly i’d like to thank the first place that gave me an opportunity to work with athletes, Divine Savior Holy Angels high school. I got to work alongside the most amazing group of coaches and athletes that someone in my field could ever ask for and just to name a few of my athletes: Katie Wissing, Jadin O’brien, Makayla Hughes, Kiley Robbins and Reegan Schmidt i want to say thank you for trusting me, believing in my abilities and i miss you all.
