We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Woodson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, what matters most to you?
Quality. Quality is timeless and never goes out of style. At I+O we approach all projects with the same process, big or small, which includes a rigorous process of making sure we nail our clients vision and expectations. The time and effort we put into our work is evident in the end product.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business is special and it starts with a mind-set. The mindset is that if we handle our work with so much care and passion and pair ourselves with Clients who truly appreciate design, that if we deilver to their standards, we will hopefully have continued, thoughtful work versus quantity. Our model is that you get what you pay for and Quantity is the less important factor for our financial success. Our team is largely a group of design rebels, or so we like to think. Some of us have degrees, some of us don’t, we definitely don’t fit any type of mold and we are largely diverse, predominantly women, a lot of whom are mothers. We source some of the best raw talent because not everyone can work a 9-5 and need more flexibility. We are nimble enough to work around our client’s schedules and proud to provide a place that people can be creative and still do Great things but might not fit into a larger corporate environment. INK + ORO employees are some of the best people and most talented individuals I have ever seen. We hire a lot of alphas and I think that makes us special– we all want to win!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am weirdly more of a homebody and like to experience design by way of travel, I think it makes me more well rounded. With that said, I am a native Californian and I have many visitors every year. One of my favorite places to take friends is Javiers, because it’s a Dallas staple and will forever have the best margarita! I also love to frequent Klyde Warren because it is suitable for any demographic, especially my family & friends with kids. For a more boho-eclectic scene I’m a big fan of the Bishop Arts area, it’s the most design centric area I have seen alongside Deep Ellum, also home to many INK + ORO projects. Then, without a doubt one of my most loved activities is to attend a Dallas Cowboys Game because the stadium and atmosphere never disappoint!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The list is endless! I have to thank many people for the success we have realized today but the first “Thank you” would be to our clients– the people who have believed in us from beginning to end and trusted us with their vision. I have had clients for over 10 years and at this point we are family. I also would like to base the state of our company on the hard work and dedication of its designers and team members; they are the truly the talent that makes up our brand. Last but not least, there has been a series of obstacles to overcome in the past 5 years which I couldn’t have navigated without the help of my business partners as well as my Husband, Darren. Having entrepreneurial mentors like them has provided me with priceless wisdom and experience.
