We had the good fortune of connecting with Stergas Stockwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stergas, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It’s important to fulfill passions in life. Being creative musically is fundamental to personal growth through all aspects of life, outside of being artistic.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been playing guitar for twenty eight years.

There’s no road map for success in the music industry. I think doing what you like, your band likes and what makes you happy is a foundation of personal success. If you’re proud of your own work it will translate to an audience.

As a maturing musician and songwriter, I find the best philosophy is to write songs to the bands strengths. Especially for the vocalist, since it’s the most relatable instrument within the band.

Audio production is another side of music creation I have fallen in love with. It’s just as creative as the writing process, only with finding good sounds and tone.

I’m currently in the process of audio engineering, producing, mixing and mastering both of the bands I’m in, (Under A Spell and Edge Of Insanity) while also taking on my first client band Forsaken Silence.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being a “Metal Head” a must is paying respects to and honoring the legacy of the Abbott brother’s.

Other high points are the typical tourist attractions. Reunion tower, Fort Worth Stockards, the nightlife hot spots in Dallas and Fort Worth.

There’s also nothing wrong with relaxing poolside with a quality cocktail and good company.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people at different points in my life have inspired me or mentored me to grow as an artist.

In my youth to mention a few…Bob Acquaviva, Lenny Bonomassa. These guys helped me understand the importance of buying the right gear in the pursuit of good tone.

Now as an adult with the bands I’m currently in,(Edge of Insanity and Under A Spell ) I have great working relationships with the members as we write and perform together.
