We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Guignard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I got it from my dad who started his own business when I was about 7 years old. I remember thinking I want to do that someday. Of course I saw the struggles but it’s worth it’s when you’re doing what you’re made to do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I opened a company called Mom’s Choice Mobile Healthcare in 2017. I have been a nurse for 20 years and obtained my Master’s Degree in Nursing/PNP 15 years ago. I knew early on that the hospital was not for me. The community is where I belong. I love getting to care for patients in their own homes. When it comes to pediatric patients, it’s less scary to get ears checked or get a flu shot while hanging out in their jammies.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Dallas.. I was born and raised here. It’s all about the food! The food scene here is amazing from Asian to Tex-mex to upscale Farm to Table. I would start there and build our trip around there. Brunch it up at Jonathon’s Oak Cliff and scoot over to Soiree coffee shop at Trinity Groves. Then walk off those calories at a local art museum (Dallas Museum of Art) and shopping in Historic Downtown McKinney. We will be hungry by then and a sandwich from Patina Green in Downtown McKinney is a must, they have the best! If you’re lucky enough to visit them on Friday, you can try their coveted B.O.B. Take a break in Plano’s Oak Point Reserve, where you can hike at your heart’s desire. When you’ve worked up more of an appetite hit up Velvet tacos for their inventive tacos and margaritas to wash them down! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to God, He really orchestrated every single detail. Of course my husband and friends pushed me to just start it already! They knew I had the passion but more importantly the guts to get out there and try something new, a risk taker.
