We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrance Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terrance, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I started the Introvert Leader brand because I wanted to inspire people with introverted personalities like myself. For a long time I felt like having an introverted personality gave me a disadvantage in my career and in business. When I learned to shift my mindset and use my introversion to my advantage, that’s when everything started to change. I knew there had to be other people out there that shared the same struggles that I had. So the idea for the business came out of wanting to help those people to succeed.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The mission of The Introvert Leader is to help people with introverted personalities to become who they want to be. Currently, Quiet Voice Fearless Leader – 10 Principles For Introverts To Awaken The Leader Inside is close to over 10,000 copies sold since its release in October 2021. We also have a podcast and an online community that we’ll be debuting in the first quarter of 2023. What sets our brand apart from others is our authenticity, and our focus on showing introverts how to leverage their unique strengths. Getting to this point has not been easy, but it has been fun. It has taken a lot of consistency….from the process of writing and publishing my first book, to creating and posting content for social media every day, to constantly trying new marketing techniques to gain awareness for the brand. For me the biggest lessons have been to keep my eyes on the end goal and to think long term. I truly believe that there are people in this world with incredible potential, my purpose is to help them discover it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So for breakfast/brunch I would take them to Snooze. We’d also stop by Soiree Coffee Bar for some good coffee/tea. For lunch or dinner we would go to the Trinity Groves area, Bishop Arts District, or Legacy West. Outside of those areas, I would have to take them to my favorite restaurant, Pangea restaurant in Garland. For drinks and hanging out, we would go to the Uptown area, Frisco’s Star area or Downtown.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have several people to shoutout that have played a role in the success of the Introvert Leader. The first person that ever booked me for an interview, S.D. Booker. I’ve been interviewed on over 50 podcasts at this point, and he was the first person to give me a shot, thank you. Also, my first ever business coach Cat Marte, and my brand/speaking coach Dr. Lawana Gladney for helping me to shape my brand and my message. Matt Pollard, author of The Introvert’s Edge series, for being a mentor and for endorsing my first book. Also, everyone that has bought a copy, left a review or shared my book Quiet Voice Fearless Leader, I truly appreciate the support! Lastly, to my wife Octavia Lee for her encouragement and support of my vision.
