We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Elmore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I originally started making cookies as a creative outlet. I have a masters degree in Social Work and have a separate full time job. When I realized making decorated cookies was something that I had become good enough at that I could make some extra money, I thought it would be a good way to start saving for my kids college, family vacations and potentially put towards my retirement eventually.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love creating art through decorated cookies. What sets me apart is my attention to detail. I put a lot of effort into creating as close to a flawless set of cookies as I can. The perfectionist in me shows through my cookies. I got to where I am today through a lot of word of mouth and having so many return customers. I really pride myself on great customer service. I’ve leaned in the bakery business it is really easy to get burnt out. It’s important to set boundaries and stick to them. Making sure you’re taking time for self-care is really important.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am born and raised in Fort Worth so I’d definitely visit the stockyards. On a nice night the patio and margaritas at Joe T. Garcia’s can’t be beat. I love sporting events and we have so many great sports teams, so a baseball, basketball, hockey, or football game is always a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My customers are so supportive of my business. They deserve a shout out. Without them I would not have had the success that I have be so lucky to have! They really are the best. They allow me to have creative freedom and trust that I will create the perfect set of cookie design for thier event. I feel really blessed to get to be a small part of so many special events!
