We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanta Brooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shanta, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My work life balance is very challenging. I set specific work hours for work and home but they still clash lol. I am saying “No” more often now when clients ask me to work on my off days. I think the balance is crucial to my personal relationships. You absolutely have to make time for the ones that you love.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most proud of the progress that I’ve made in such a short period of time. I’m always learning new things and techniques. It was not easy but it was not hard. Networking, research, and hard work got me to where I am now. I overcame the challenges by coming up with a solution instead of stressing over things that I have no control over. I want the world to know that my brand, Your Skin Tailoring, is not generic or a one size fits all. When you TAILOR something to the needs of others, you are adjusting what you do to best suit them rather than taking a general approach.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m still fairly new here so I haven’t learned the hot spots yet lol
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My son, Tristian. He helped me mature faster and taught me what unconditional love is. He motivates me to keep going.
