We had the good fortune of connecting with Saryna Cedillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Saryna, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
The fear of failure is ever present, all the time. The possibility of failing is non existent if you never try. But so is the possibly of being successful. Ive learned that even if I fail – it was an incredible opportunity to learn more than I had before. Its never about the fact that you fell – what matters most if when and how you get back up that builds the most character. Taking risks is exactly what got me here today, I will always tell someone to follow their dreams and do what they love.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most excited about the growth in my art and in my business. When I first started photography natural light was my enemy, I could never figure out how to not get harsh shadows or terrible lighting. After taking a few classes and practicing shooting in different types of natural light. We soon became friends, I learned to work with the light to evoke feelings and emotions. It was an incredible shift – after that learning to make my subjects feel comfortable in front of the camera made a world of difference. I have grown professionally through having a ton of amazing mentors and support along the way. Like every business its never easy, but doing something you’re passionate about never is but its always worth it. I have learned take more chances, you get out of your business exactly what you put in, take more pictures. If there is one thing I want people to know about me It’s that I understand what its like to be passionately in love, swept up by day to day life, or totally devoted to your work. That one day you look up and life has just flown by and you feel like you’ve missed everything. I pride myself on being the reminder to slow down, look up, and cherish these moments.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
ohhhhh this is a great question,

I would take them to our local farmers market to get fresh eggs and vegetables to make an amazing breakfast. Then for lunch we would go to Marty B’s for some of the BEST barbecue in Texas. Next on a gorgeous scenic walk on katy trail. Lastly we would go to Brass Tap for a fun trivia night.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have many people to thank for my successes in life and in my business. My parents got me my first camera, and encouraged me to pursue photography as a business. My partner who has stood by me the last four years of creative ruts, long hours, and being my number one supporter. My friends Sarah and Patrina who remind me I am worthy of so many thing, share my work and have been my personal hype women. Lastly, I would love to thank my mentor Kylie Hull for showing me my opportunities for personal & professional growth, pushing me to be my best, and all the support given in each of our meetings.
