We had the good fortune of connecting with Richy Xiong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Richy, why did you pursue a creative career?
We often preach the motto “find your solace”. It’s printed on a few of our shirts as well. We don’t go into the reasoning too much at our live shows, but the underlying principle of why I decided to pursue this creative outlet was because it fulfills me. Whether it’s writing lyrics, performing live, or rehearsing the same verse 8 times with the band, there is a collective and personal goal being achieved through our music and the process of its creation. I implore others to find what fulfills them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
“I believe I got incredibly lucky coming into contact with our band through mutual friends. The rest of the guys are all incredibly talented, but more importantly they are incredible people. I think our ability to communicate and adapt to whatever circumstances come our way is the deciding factor that led us to where we are as a group. Through the pandemic, member changes, personal situations and so on we keep to the band and the message, We have a long way to go, but I’m positive that whatever challenges come our way will be met with the elite persistence and adaptability our band brings into every situation. I want the world to know that it is okay to not be okay. Fighting battles within yourself will only make your battles with the world more difficult. The National Suicide Lifeline has changed their number to 988. It is okay to get the help you need, and it is okay to encourage others to get the help they need. You will never see the light at the end of the tunnel if you’re facing the wring direction. Find your own way, find what makes you truly you, find your solace.” – Richy

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
“Dallas has so much to offer. Deep Ellum or Lower Greenville would be the spots we recommend most. Deep Ellum obviously has a ton of music spots where you can just walk down Elm, hear something you like, then pop in to learn about an artist you’ve never heard of before. Three links is a go to venue in that the stage is open to the street. I wish there were more places like that. Trees is great too, tons of history there. Finish it off with some serious pizza and you have hit some Deep Ellum staples there.” – Richy

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
“The support that truly stands out are from our fan interactions. It feels great getting emails from “that one guy from Arkansas” or talking to the guy who was “here for another band, but they loved hearing our music and our message”. It makes me, and I’m sure the rest of the band, feel like we’re spreading the message in the right way. ” – Richy
