We had the good fortune of connecting with Lady Redneck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lady, what do you attribute your success to?
I love this question! I think the most important factor behind my success is that I didn’t do it alone. I collaborated with my fans. My fans became my label. I write all of my own music, but they vote on which songs I record. I’ve had fans set up shows, fans design my merch and once a month I crowdfund and my fans pay for me to record. It’s a group effort and they’re very much involved and vested in my music. When I win, they win!

I think two minds are better than one and collaborations always bring better results!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Lady Redneck and I love music. Yes, I write and record Country and Christian music – but have played, listen to, and love all different kinds of music. The country and Christian just resonate more with who I am.

I grew up in Idaho in the super small town of Howe, ID, population 23. I grew up riding horses, working on a farm, and love the simplicity of the country life. I am very patriotic, love to shoot guns, and play in the mud. I am also very much a lady – love my heels and what many think is contrary to the “redneck” title – I speak as a lady as well.

Now I live in the North Dallas area. I stand for family, freedom and faith.. These things are all very important to me.

I”m a mom and family will always come first. With that said, most of my music has been online over the last few years. My little girl was just getting old enough that I was just getting ready to tour in 2020 when Covid hit. I love to perform live and it’s literally my favorite thing- so that was very disappointing.

I’ve had many challenges and disappointments in my life but my positive attitude and faith in God have kept me going. I served a year and a half mission in south Texas for my church. Now my mission is to bring light to everyone I can. I truly want to help and serve others. I want my music to uplift and inspire.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Texas! We would head down to South Padre and spend a day or two there…. then up to the Alamo in San Antonio, because EVERYONE needs to see that.

We would make our way possibly up to NASA in Houston, as I’ve wanted to go there for a long time. Maybe fish in Galveston and then head over to WACO for a day and hang out at the Magnolia market.

On the way back up to Dallas, we’d have to stop at Buccees, of course, and grab a T-shirt, nuts, jerky, fudge and whatever else I’m in the mood for that day! 😉

Then a quick stop at Fort Worth on the way back home to see the cattle drive down Main Street before we head back home to North Dallas. Here the sky is the limit. We’ll grab some sushi at “Blue Fish” at Watters Creek and listen to some live music! There are almost too many good places up here to list and I”m probably up to more like 2 weeks at this point – but we’d have to end the trip hanging out on the weekend in my hometown of Celina at the Square. They always have the best events going on and it’s such a hometown feel. I just love it here!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Haha! I guess I read your mind… the answer to your first questions involved a lot of this – but I love shoutouts and would love to do it a little more!

First and foremost, it would be to my parents. They love music and always made it a big part of my life growing up. We had a family band, “Dusty Boots,” that played all over the northwest US. We performed at weddings, did the fair circuit, corporate events and everything in between. They used to say that: A family that plays together stays together.

Secondly, it would be my husband. He’s been very supportive with my music.

If you missed my first question, I DEFINITELY need to do a shoutout to my “label”… my fans! They are AMAZING and I feel so lucky and blessed to have them in my life. They are helping me reach new heights with my music and reach more people.

I also need to thank Brad Davis, my producer. He’s great to work with and listens to all my crazy ideas.

And I need to thank my Savior, Jesus Christ. It’s for Him that I do everything I do. I love Him and will praise Him all my days.
