We had the good fortune of connecting with Reginald Phillips and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reginald, how do you think about risk?
I feel like taking risks are inevitable when you want to elevate in life. From an entrepreneur’s viewpoint, taking risks are a major part of the lifestyle. As far as my career goes, taking risks has made a huge improvement on my life because I’ve found a new level of confidence within myself, which allows me exceed every goal that I set for myself and not allow anyone’s (myself included) doubts to hinder me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What makes me stand out from everyone else is my attention to detail and my integrity. I’m proud of how much I’ve grown in 2 years. Business has really been booming lately. I’d be lying if I said it was easy! This shit is HARD! You have that time of year when bookings slow down, so of course revenue changes. This business is also very hard on the body, it will definitely make or break you. But I overcome those challenges by staying consistent. With me, you’re going to get 100% every time. I don’t half step, it’s my name on these shirts and I take that very personally. I’ve definitely learned patience. Dealing with a variety of custumers definitely has challenges, so I’ve learned to be more patient and treat every customer/ situation differently. I just want the people to know that I got this straight out the mud. If you knew what I’ve been through, you’d be proud of me too. I definitely have the BEST moving service in town, so book with the kid, you won’t be disappointed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m really a home body. I work on restoring and customizing sneakers and I also play 2K. Anyone who knows me know that if you ask me what to eat I’m going to always say HENDERSONS! My circle consists of pretty much family and that’s who I love to be around. Being around my brothers Dee, Kyron, Ashton, Jayrein, Bam and Nick is therapeutic for me. So basically, my itinerary would consist of family and Henderson’s Chicken.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well first & foremost I want to give a shout out to God, without him none of this is possible. Even when the odds were stacked against me, he brung me through it. Immediately after that, I wanna give a shoutout to my girl, the mother of my kids. From the moment I told her about my business idea she has supported me, whether it was creating the business cards or creating the website, she always helps in whatever area she can, and I definitely feel like she deserves big recognition. Lastly, my kids. My kids are my “why.” They are the reason I go so hard. When I look at them, I just KNOW that I have to do my best to be successful. Of course I have support from other family and friends, if I could name them all, I would. But they know who they are, shout out to y’all.
