We had the good fortune of connecting with Paddy Coppin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paddy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When starting Divarides, I had one thing in mind. To provide excellent customer service to our community and the women in it. I wanted to create a safe mode of transportation that would allow those women and their families to not only be comfortable but have peace of mind and stellar service as well. I wanted them to be happier as they exit their Divaride than when they entered.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Over the past couple years, I have had a steep learning curve. Taking complete control and responsibility for building our company future has been rewarding and daunting at the same time. Though each day presents its obstacles, each day gets easier spotting patterns, building momentum, and developing our system, and life has taught me to turn the fear of the unknown into motivation and personal liberation. This attitude and drive ultimately birthed Divarides.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dallas has grown immensely, and there has been a smorgasbord of new cuisine and culinary exploration to find here. However, the test of time has proved there’s truly nothing like our Tex-Mex! It’s tough to beat Dallas’ tacos, rich and inventive, anything smothered in brisket queso, or a sweet and salty, ice cold margarita on the rocks. Dress it up, or down, Dallas has just about anything for any walk of life which comes through.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been overwhelmed by the support from Divarides’ female patrons and have learned that I can count on them just as they can count on us. While Divarides has encountered the typical start-up challenges that any company in this competitive market would, the women on both sides of Divarides have not hesitated to rise to this occasion. Both drivers and Divariders have walked the walk with each other in our female centered effort and all have shown support while we develop a newer, more advanced website, and continue to develop a Divarides app which will eventually launch to make booking a Divaride that much easier!
