We had the good fortune of connecting with OG GOLD and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi OG, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Doing music and traveling with my family. Both are my happy place, and tend to put me in a peaceful mind state. I’m really not a person that’s hard to make happy honestly,I am very simple, and I just go with the flow. I’m so family oriented, so that’s why I pretty much enjoy doing things with my family. Outside of music, if I’m not traveling,I’m a couch potato,Lol. I get happy when I binge watch tv shows honestly,or when going to check out my brother’s races whenever I can.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.I do music. I have my own entertainment company called Diamond Life Entertainment. I’m also apart of Shakeback Entertainment. I pretty much got here just never giving up , and I am still striving. The biggest challenges I have overcome is recognizing who has my best interest. So many people in the music industry are takers. You have to be able to discern who is with you and who is not. I want to be the example of what it means to never give up!! Keep going until you can’t anymore! I have had some very bad experiences dealing with music, as well as some great ones. I think I wanna start working with young kids to teach them about the proper way to write music as far as counting measures of the song and just overall being creative enough to put together a whole song.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a laid back type of individual so outside of music, like I said, I’m pretty family oriented. But one of my favorite go to spots is in Deep Ellum ,and the place is called Bucky Moonshine’s. It has great music, drinks and the staff is always friendly! I’m also a big sports fan so I like to take friends to Texas live just for the atmosphere. I had some friends come into town from Alabama and we went to Texas live,the first thing they did was bull riding, and when I tell you they enjoyed themselves, I mean it. They had a blast. Oh and I like the Bishop Arts District also. I’ve went to a few cool spots here in Dallas. I took a few friends to a bar downtown, and Shaq came in!! He was super cool!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God, my family and my brother Phil. God is always first in my life, and my wife and kids are my pride and joy. My mom, my sisters and my nieces have always been in my corner through this whole musical journey. My brother Phil is what you would call rare! He is not my biological brother. Without him I would have thrown in the towel a long time ago . And also shoutout to my day ones Big Ed and Allen!!
