We had the good fortune of connecting with Jimbo Moody and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jimbo, what makes you happy? Why?
As a band the ability to create original music instead of just being a cover band is very important to us, having our own identity is much more satisfying and having a channel to release our creativity is why we exist. We write music that is designed to take you away from your everyday life and problems. It’s an escape if only for an hour and a half. We elevate humor, You can go to The Airstream Outlaws show and smile and laugh and totally be entertained. Spreading that happiness is what makes us happy!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets The Airstream Outlaws apart from other bands is our humor, instead of your typical conveyor belt country song topics manufactured in Nashville, we have established fun and unique topics that are not heard in your everyday run of the mill country bands with catchy hooks to keep you engaged and singing along! We keep on plugging away, year after year, it’s anything but easy. We are self produced, writing ourselves, record ourselves and promoting ourselves, the biggest obstacle is always funding but we seem to always pull it off! We have so much more to say with our songs, a deep well of songs stockpiled, we are in the process of releasing our debut EP and look forward to pushing the new songs to radio and all the streaming platforms very soon!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you’re coming to Dallas/Fort Worth for the first time the first thing you have to do is go get you some Texas Barbecue! My favorite places are Texas Pitt BBQ in Blue Mound, Angelo’s on White Settlement and Cooper’s in the Stock Yards. If you made it to Cooper’s in the Stock Yards you gotta go check out the night life scene and the cool country bands there, hit The White Elephant or Filthy McNasty’s or go see a bigger show at the world’s largest honkey tonk Billy Bob’s! Be sure and make your way to Dallas and hit Deep Ellum and the West End. The list goes on forever! There is plenty to do and see in DFW

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to shout out DJ Richard Sinz from The Texas Renegade Radio show on KNON 89.3 FM in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. He was the very first person to really give us a chance on being on FM radio. He took a real liking to The Airstream Outlaws and has given us a pretty good rotation on his show on Fridays and playing three of our singles which is huge for us! He gave us the opportunity for our first Live On Air appearance and a figure of speech, kinda rolled out the red carpet for us making us feel welcomed, appreciated and important! We can’t express our gratitude enough.
