We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina Aiyana and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nina, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
When becoming an entrepreneur one thing I think most people don’t realize is that in order to succeed you have to face yourself. You have to face your own short comings, your procrastination, your insecurities, all of it. Because if you cant get your stuff together your business will not get itself together either.

What should our readers know about your business?
What I love most about what I do is, getting to see the light bulbs go on in my clients, those aha moments of realization that shift you. Awakened Awareness Coaching is the only of its kind, working with you to enhance your mindset patterns, emotional behaviors, as well as spiritual connection to grow within all aspects of life.

I was born in Japan and spent many years of my adult life traveling the world, studying, and learning the human condition.

My upbringing was very unconventional, and as I grew up I had a lot of questions around what’s true, and real, and important in life. So I studied. I’ve learned to overcome and heal from my own traumas and love guiding others on how they can do the same. I’ve always had a deep sense of spirituality and connection to subtle energies which led me to yoga, meditation and the study of conscious expansion. Now I take all I have learned to help others find the answers to their own questions, cultivate their own peace, and expand into more of what they’ve always wanted.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve lived in Dallas for 6 years now and this city has been very good to me. I absolutely love strolling the Katy Trail, and the Ice House there is the great place to stop in for a drink or some BBQ. Dallas has so many little hubs, like Bishops Arts for example. It has A quant small town feel with big city stores, and restaurants. Tribal Café is one of my favorite lunch spots there for vegan food and a delicious matcha or coffee if you prefer. Dallas doesn’t have too many outdoor activities but OSO, a climbing gym in the Design District, makes up for that. With indoor bouldering, fitness classes, a full gym, and bar upstairs with games to boot, its a space you could in stay all day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
No man is an island. – John Donne

There have been many people along my path who have inspired me, hurt me, guided me, rejected me, and encourage me.

I am thankful for each and every one of them, the supporters and the haters.

There is however, one person who stands out the most in my mind when I think of how this all got started, and that is Jayne Horner, my dear friend. She has been my biggest cheerleader and believer in who I am, and what I do. I know for certain I would not be where I am today if we hadn’t met. Thank you Jayne for practically forcing me on this path and pushing me into my future.
