We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicholas, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Food has always been a big part of my family. In my case, it started with grandparents and Sunday dinners. Food brings family together and of course love and nourishment! That thought alone was enough for me. I knew food would be a factor in just about any occasion that took place. Everybody has to eat! Food brings love ones together! Why not be a part of that!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One thing that sets me apart from others is creativity and taste! Food is like art to me, therefore making the chef an Artist. No artist is the same although they may have similar qualities. I am proud of myself for not giving up when times get hard because it can be stressful at times. I’m excited about what the future will bring. Every morning I give thanks to God and welcome each day with open arms because it is a blessing to be here. I want say it was easy for me to get where I am today by far and I still have a long way to go. I have a few things for motivation that keeps me going: God, Family, and listening to other success stories. I have learned that it takes a team to build the foundation you need to have success. When a team is involved, everyone is there to motivate and support one another. One thing you should remember about us is, every time we are in the kitchen, we are preparing food for family! Welcome to our family!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I am fairly new to the Dallas area! There is so much to see and take in, I wouldn’t know where to start. I will say I love to try authentic places! The mom and pop spot you can’t find on every corner. They are usually the best. Alfredo’s Pasta and Pizza in Lewisville is a great place for Italian food! Krab Kingz of Fort Worth has great seafood! Texas has a lot of hidden jewels I am looking forward to exploring.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my wife Erica! She has been my motivation from day 1! The name “Eat With Nick” was her ideal. I long with my chef (teacher from school) and friend and Chef D (friend) have have both passed but their memory lives on with me. I also have friends and family with me today as well that gives me a lot of love and support! I am thankful for all of them!
