We had the good fortune of connecting with Neidy Hornsby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Neidy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create a law firm which combined bespoke legal services with a predictable fee structure. After spending years working at big law firms I understood there was gap which kept smaller brands from accessing legal counsel.

And I was motivated to fill that gap by eliminating the choice between “DIY legal work” or “$400/hour attorneys.”

We help entreprenuers take the necessary steps to ensure their ideas have strong legal frameworks. However, they do not need to mortgage the business’ future for the sake of legal counsel.

We are intentionally distrupting the legal industry and we are unapologetic about it.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud of the countless women who have secured trademark registrations with our help.

One client, in particular, comes to mind. She is the creator of the phrase “I am my ancestors’ wildest dream.” This quote has had a major impact on our society. It was an honor to have played an important role to ensure that she can own her intellectual property.

And this is very much representative of our typical client. We are in the business of helping women own, safeguard, and monetize their ideas. Our work ensures that brand founders can confidently build global brands knowing they are legally protected.

This was not easy. For one, we had to learn how to become ‘lean.’ In order to provide our clients with predictable and affordable fees, we were intentional about minimizing our overhead at all costs (slight pun intended).

We are a virtual firm. This fact alone reduced our overhead tremendously. And the beneficiaries of this cost reduction are our clients. We remain committed to cutting costs for our clients. I think part of this motivation is that in many ways “I am my typical client.” I understand the challenges of building a business, particularly in this new world.

I am proud that we offer services that meet our clients across the lifespan of their business and they don’t have to break the bank to accomplish their goals.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dwight Hornsby, my husband, his support helps me move the needle forward.
