We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica Guajardo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monica, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I decided to pursue an artist career because I knew since about the age of 15 that going into the beauty industry was going to be the perfect fit for someone like me. I never saw myself being stuck behind an office job or having a 9-5 career. I knew I just wanted to meet new people, and create glamorous looks. I was always a visual learner growing up and loved being hands on, so going into my field of work was the perfect career for someone like myself who just loved showing her creative side. I love it, whether it’s applying makeup on a Bride on their special wedding day or giving someone an amazing hair style for a special occasion, this is my passion and what I was meant to do.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At MMG BEAUTY we strive to be the best! Not only do we work hard to satisfy our clients, but we also listen to their needs and wants to be able to reassure them they are in great hands! We always make sure that our clients are absolutely satisfied with their end result. I’m extremely blessed and proud to have a team of stylist at my side who love what they do just as much as myself. They have the same passion and I’m incredibly lucky to have such great stylist on my team.
To be honest getting to where I am today and growing my team is all due to my amazing clients and also many vendors and other professionals. If it wasn’t for them and their word of mouth, I would not be where I am today and have all the clients that I have now. Word of mouth is how it all started for me 10 years ago, before I even had my social media business accounts. I’m excited to see where my company will be in the next few years and I’m only hoping to grow and expand more.
I’ve definitely learned that in this beauty industry like any other career you have to work hard to be able to stand out and grow. Continuing education is a must in order to be able to keep up with all the new trends and to also reassure your clients you can deliver. There will always be competition next door and there will always be someone better than you. What makes you stand out as a person, as a stylist is your skills, so it’s very important that you always continue further education to be able to succeed and stay book year round.
At MMG BEAUTY you will not be disappointed! We speak Spanish and we love working with all ethnicities! Our motto is to always show up, work hard and deliver great results!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take out the girls to the Frisco Star in Frisco, TX. There you will find many different restaurants options, shops, the Dallas Cowboys fitness center and the Omni Hotel, which is a great stay for anyone visiting from out of town. Speaking of shops, Legacy West is one of my favorite other spots to go if I want to drive the extra 5/10 minutes up the toll from the Frisco Star. My favorite restaurant is Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, they never disappoint the food and service is excellent! I would then go down the strip to Kai where I would hang out at their lounge or bar, great atmosphere and sushi. These two locations are great for anyone looking to just hang out, shop, eat and stay near it all.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
