We had the good fortune of connecting with Missy Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Missy, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Outsiders may not know that other than acting I also went to school medical technology. I worked in neuro oncology ( neuro meaning brain), and also as a medical lab assistant in microbiology and that I am Currently the owner of an Adult Male Group Home for MHMR PATIENTS and retired Veterans.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Missy Lee, Born Me’Keyshia Lee (Stylist turned film and stage actress) – is a native of Fort Worth, Texas. Missy embraced her love of Fashion, entertainment & dramatic arts while still in high school. Missy studied cosmotolgy while in high school then went on to Acting and Theatre Art at TCJC and Casa Manana and also by attending private acting classes and group workshops thru out the Fort Worth and California area. Later in her 20’s she started getting attention for her different style of dressing and styling hair which then caught the eyes of a NBA wife which then start her styling career. Missy is a licensed stylist (hair, makeup and clothing) that has been featured in Essence Magazine and Munaluchibride for her works with Celebrity Athletes. Putting styling aside she decided to go back to her true love of acting. Missy has been in several stage productions that started out with Evelyn Jones-Reed award-winning writer/ director/ and producer. Missy has now gone into commercials, movies and television series.
 She has shared the stage with numerous theater giants such as Darrin Henson, Miguel Nunez Jr., Claudia Jordan, Burnette Stanis and singers Ann Nesby just to name a few.

Outside of acting, she enjoys cooking and boxing but her number one hobby would be volleyball. Missy is a God fearing family women, loving mother and glam-mom and all though it may not seem like it friends and family knows she is a true home body that enjoys her Missy time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a country girl so I love the Fort Worth stockyard. There is so much to do and see and some great food. One of my favorite nearby restaurant would be RUTH CHRIS. I would also recommend horse back riding for those who love to be outside and animals.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would first of course like to recognize GOD for giving me the strength to go forward with my dreams and keeping me sane. This is not a easy business. I would also like to thank my family ( to many to name) for all their support, rather it’s dropping me off at the airport, picking up a kid, taking care of my group home when I’m way, just whatever I need. I really appreciate it all. Then My true friends that always push me, calling me, sending my jobs ( all over), sending me money, cursing me out and always keep it a buck lol.
