We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Acquisto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mike, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our kids were young, and we wanted to have a flexible schedule that allowed the ability to spend time with them. We have always had the belief that it is better to work on your business, not in your business—building versus surviving. We went through the recession in 2008. We always try to push to become better, even when it’s uncomfortable. We are proud of the business that we built and excited to be named as the 2020 Boutique Brokerage of the Year by North DFW Real Producers. We have put together systems and processes as well as invested heavily in technology to be unique in what we offer and how we work with our clients, Real estate has significantly changed in the past nearly 20 years. When we started Acquisto Real Estate in 2001, it was a different world. There were no real estate giants like Zillow or iBuyer services. We always want to do better in everything that we do and how we serve our clients.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a small boutique real estate brokerage that is smaller by design and locally focused. We enjoy having a close-knit real estate family and conduct business out of our home office. We pride ourselves in offering individualized service that every client deserves and feel that we have set ourselves apart in the local market by the innovative ways that we market our listings and the technology we use to drive our business forward. We don’t work with ‘leads,’ we work with people, and each sale or purchase is unique. We strive to make clients for life and host quarterly client appreciation events. We enjoy what we do and feel that it shows as we pass on our training and knowledge to our clients to provide them with the best possible buying or selling experience.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The pork chop lunch at Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille is a must! I also would suggest to grab a Lucy burger at Kenny’s Burger Joint and on a warm day indulge in Andy’s Frozen Custard. I am a big fan of Texas BBQ and have a pretty high standard for it, so we enjoy trying out spots around the local area. Hard Eight is always one that is fun to take out of town visitors to.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My beautiful wife, Shana.
