We had the good fortune of connecting with Michela Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michela, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I want to be wealthy and happy. I want to feel fulfilled. The goal is to know that hard work has really payed off. I want to retire physically doing hair at 30 but I will be never stop being involved in things pertaining to hair. For example, I will own a hair company. Also outside of hair I wanna own a restaurant. But closing up what I was saying ,basically, happy and fulfilled.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others when it comes to hair is my love for it. Now and days people don’t do it for the genuine joy it brings them. They see money. When I first started doing hair it was a coping mechanism for my depression. It helped me move on to have better days. Another things that sets me apart from others is my prices vs my quality. I do hairstyles that are usually $200 and up for reasonable and affordable prices. Bringing me into one of the lessons I’ve learned along the way always go with doing what u want it’s so many people that told me to “up” my prices and do this and why I charge this when I could be doing that. I’m not saying don’t accept constructive criticism but don’t try and let somebody else take over how you run your business. There is no deadline with how things should go for you is a good tip as well. Don’t ever think you supposed to be doing this cause this person did it in 2 months or a year. Move at your own pace.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a very homebody type person and my friends know that lol. So I would take them to get a whole bunch of games and such that we could do at home. As far as going out I love trying food and we could go to a couple of food places. But if we really wanna have fun fun out we could paintball, six flags and hurricane harbor. Go to the mall, etc of course.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
@lexi.kors and hairgloryyy on Instagram they are very local talented young women in dfw area that I know and has personally done my hair. ( And I’m very picky about who touches my hair lol) it’s many others but I swear rn I don’t know all of their @‘s. But if you know me you know I support all people in every field of talent.
