We had the good fortune of connecting with Maribel Motenehua and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maribel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
“What if I fail”, Was my first thought on starting my own business. I didn’t know where to start, I didn’t had a plan, wasn’t prepared nor didn’t know what failure was. However, one thing for sure I had a vision of who I wanted to become and where I wanted to be in the next 5yrs. With many thoughts/doubts on my mind I decided to jump into a field not knowing the intricacies of this field but I knew I didn’t want to look back and ask myself “what if”. So I decided to become a Real Estate Agent. I knew as a realtor I was going to face challenges at first but I promised myself to never give up and give my 110% each day no matter how hard the challenges might be. With mixed emotions, I was determine to become an excellent realtor to help families with their real estate needs.

What should our readers know about your business?
This career can open so many opportunities . Even though I was determined to give my 110% each day and overcome the challenges as a business owner faces. My career came to a point where I wanted to quit. I wanted to throw in the towel, too soon. But I knew deep inside of me that wasn’t the solution. A fellow colleague advice me to take a step back and redefine my “WHY”. I realized I was getting out of my comfort zone, my business was teaching me how to become patience and embrace every failure of my journey. One big lesson I learned is to be constant and grateful regardless of the low’s and high’s.

I am so proud of myself for continuing my career. A Real Estate Agent is about meeting different and interesting people from various situations on a daily basis. Everyone has their own story, and often this is wrapped up in the property they’re selling. Selling or buying a house is a huge life event. It’s one of the biggest transactions many people will ever undertake. As a real estate agent, I’m the person by their side throughout the whole process. I’m there to provide my clients with reassurance and peace of mind with my level head and extensive experience in the market. Helping people on a daily basis and seeing the tangible results of my actions at the end of each day. It is also the most rewarding moment’s seeing my clients faces full of joy and tears when buying their home.

If your thinking on opening a business or become an entrepreneur, it will be hard and it takes a lot of courage to take the risks but embrace each failure because it brings lessons and experience. Remember to be constant and always be grateful on your low’s and high’s.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the city of Dallas. Dallas have some of the most amazing places to visit. Some of the best sightseeing in Dallas is the Reunion Tower where you can view all of Dallas or just to walk around with fiends and family members is The Colinas, Irving or The Stockyards, Fort Worth and lastly my favorite place to visit is Magnolia, Waco.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I give all my glory to God, who gave me the strength to execute my dreams. He turned my impossible to possible and he is the reason of who I am today. I also want to give a huge shoutout to my loved one’s and mentors who encouraged me, pushed me and never let me down. I’m thankful for my clients who have chose me to be part of their real estate journey. Lastly, I give thanks to myself for not quitting on hard times. I couldn’t ask for more great people to be by my side

Psalms 121: 1-2
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
