We had the good fortune of connecting with LaShon Rodgers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LaShon, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea for my business after having the love and desire to always host and throw game nights and parties for friends and family. I love helping people and being the subject matter expert.
I grew more involved with event planning when I planned my wedding and did everything from beginning to end. The satisfaction of seeing how everything came together and being a part of all of the logistical elements bought me so much joy that I quickly saw and felt that this was a great business opportunity to go into. Due to this, Forever In a Day Wedding & Event Planning was born.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets me apart is that I know what I can do and what I can’t. I stay true to who I am, and I’m not afraid to say I haven’t tried something, knowing that I will work to fulfill the request with confidence.
I don’t compare myself to others; I learn at my own pace, allowing myself to grow and naturally evolve. In addition to being a Wedding & Event Planner, I am a Travel Agent and a Texas Notary, and I can offer my clients an array of assistance when planning their special occasions. My brand, Forever In a Day, strives to give each client the personalized services they deserve and need while helping them to Create Memories. I am here to provide quality service and support as they go through the planning stages for the occasion that will signify “Forever In a Day.”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Texas is a great state to visit, and since I’ve been a resident here, I’ve had the opportunity to see some fantastic places. When my best friend is in town or taking friends around town, It would probably look like this:
Happy Hour Drinks and Small Bites at Ida Claire’s in Addison, TX
Mexican Food at Vidorra Addison
Live Music and Fun at Lava Cantina in The Colony, TX
Spa Day at Spa Castle in Carrollton, TX
shops and restaurants at Grandscape in The Colony, TX, and Legacy West in Plano, TX
There’s so much to do and explore here, and Texas is full of hidden gems. It would not be a dull time, that’s for sure.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to my wonderful husband, Ronald, of 16 years, and our four sons, Ronald III, Cameron, Grayson & Ashton. Because of them, I push hard and constantly seek to grow and succeed in my business. My business is OUR business, and what I put into it will determine what we all get out of it. I love being an event planner, and I love the smiles I get to put on my client’s faces and the joy they feel after a successful event. Knowing they are pleased with the work put into making their day special and appreciated gives me constant fuel to keep pushing to be the best I can be.
Along the way, I’ve had the support of family and friends, and for that, I am always grateful. This shoutout is also for them and all of my clients whom I’ve been blessed to work with. This job is not unchallenging by no means, but it fulfills me, and for that, I will always serve to the best of my ability to make sure that every event I get to be a part of is filled with memories that will last forever!
