We had the good fortune of connecting with Larry Dale Carpenter Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Larry Dale, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I decided to throw my hat into the ring and run for political office in Tarrant County for the March 1st, 2022 primary. Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out the way I wanted, but I found that there was a huge market for the ideals and principles that I ran on. With risk, there is loss. With loss, there is knowledge. You will succeed, if you learn from your experience. While running for office, I spoke to many constituents who owned businesses. I listened to their frustrations with regard to working with advertising and marketing agencies who had ideologies in direct conflict with them and their companies. It’s hard to write a monthly check to a marketing or advertising company that doesn’t like you! My desire to be a trust worthy partner to conservative business owners to help influence and make change for the greater good was my motivating factor to starting my own ad agency. That is how the idea of Red Brand Media was born. If You’re Conservative, We’re Your Agency of Record.
Our customer base is conservative businesses and a few political clients. One thing that separates us from the competition is that we’re openly conservative in an industry dominated by the opposite side. Our client list is confidential. We do not publish or boast our client list in the ad industry. We do this to prevent doxing from within the ad industry and big media. Our “award” is your increased profit. In an industry of image, (we know) that the only thing that matters is profitable growth.
We’ve had tremendous response from companies in the DFW metroplex, Texas, and most recently, from other states. It’s been incredibly refreshing to be an advertising agency and announce that we are Conservative. Like You.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My life has never been boring. I’ve lived in South Africa, New Zealand, China & Australia, leading me to undertake some of the biggest, most exciting challenges of my life. The one thing I’ve learned is you can never have too many friends! I’m constantly striving to build on my successes and learn from mistakes and failures. I believe a unique personality trait given by God is my ability to talk with strangers as if I’ve known them my entire life. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve struck up conversations with strangers which led to long-lasting friendships and business connections. The world is full of potential. To me, the key to success in advertising is to care about my clients business and learn about how they make money. Then, I use my skills to help them make a lot more. You can’t fake sincerity. People want to do business with people they know they can trust.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve heard that if you were dropped in the middle of Downtown San Antonio or Fort Worth, you would be sure to know you’re in Texas! I agree to this statement 100% and am proud to say I was born and raised in Tarrant County. I love the historical value that my city lends to our state! When out-of-state or international friends visit me, I show them the “real Texas.” My hometown tour always starts with the historical stockyards of Fort Worth. Then, we stop by and enjoy the ambience, food & drinks of my former employer, Joe T’s Mexican restaurant. And, the icing on the cake is the view of my city from the historic Petroleum Club on the 40th floor on Main Street. There is no better place to soak in the view of the Fort Worth skyline.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to a special someone that helped inspire me to get Red Brand Media off the ground. She was also my campaign manager putting in the tireless amounts of hours into my campaign, and propelling the ad agency forward. She brings many decades of experience to the table while teaching me all the ends and outs of the industry. During my election she was very patient and adaptive to the challenges that we encountered weekly.
