Meet Kevin Messica | Music Producer & DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Messica and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevin, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose my career path for countless reasons, but to sum it up I just truly do what I am passionate about and has made the biggest impact in my life and many other people’s lives that are in my life. There’s nothing else I can imagine doing other than what I love the most! Music has always been one of my biggest inspirations in this world, and has changed my life in a very positive way. I hope to bring light and inspire others with my career the same way many artists have done and continue doing for me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m currently working on a ton of new music and can’t wait to share these sounds with the world! I have my first EP along with a bunch of other fun projects coming soon. I’ve been incorporating a lot more live instruments and vocals into my music and will soon be working it into my live sets and am absolutely stoked for that. Speaking of live sets I’ve been playing some very cool shows lately all over the US, (mainly in Dallas) at some of the most unique & exciting venues I’ve ever been and it’s been a blast, have a few more big ones coming up that I’m very excited for! I’m hoping to start playing some big stages at big festivals in the near future! Make sure to stay tuned for new music & show dates coming soon!
Getting to where I’m at today took a lot of passion and dedication. I really had to commit to learning my craft and also the business side of what I’m doing since I’m currently an independent artist. I’ve also had a few obstacles in my life that have made my journey more difficult, but I like to think that those things have made me stronger in the long run and have made me who I am. It has not been easy getting where I’m at now and I have a lot further to go, but I’ll always keep on pushing. You can do anything you set your mind to and get past any obstacle, never doubt your ability to conquer!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a hard one there’s so many good spots around DFW! Since I play & attend a lot of shows around here I’ll list of some of my favorite venues first: The Green Elephant, Select Start Arcade & Bar, Crowne Plaza Rooftop Pool, 77° Rooftop Bar/Wonder Bar, The Yard, and Whiskey Garden. Some of my favorite places to grab a bite or a drink with some friends would be: Sidecar Social, Yard House, Lazy Dog, Blue Sushi, Vidorra, Zio Al’s Pizza, Terry Black’s BBQ, and Cheba Hut. In terms of hanging out there’s a ton of fun interesting spots around the city, but personally I love a lot of the nature in the DFW area, there are some amazing lakes, parks, and trails to escape to!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to actually give a huge shoutout to DFW. I’m not originally from here, but have been raised here ever since I was 6 and I am honored to get to call this my home the people and community here have been so amazing and are a huge part of where I’m at today! Some people I would like to specifically shoutout would be my wonderful family who always have my back and support me like crazy, my girlfriend Kylar who is my rock, all the homies for always being there and pushing each other to the top!
