We had the good fortune of connecting with Kamona Nelson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kamona, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson I learn is don’t rush the process or compare your Business to others. Allow yourself grace to make mistakes, fail, and grow. Promote your business, and don’t focus on who support you or not just keep going.
What should our readers know about your business?
I manage multiple businesses and I work in corporate. So I have a 9-5 Monday through Friday. I also managed a tax business January-April, and a wellness studio which I service clients on the weekends. I learn to balance all three jobs by taking each day one at a time. The lesson I have learn is to prioritize myself and my mental health. It’s okay to take a break and treat myself to a nice vacation. I had to learn to show up for myself like I’m showing up for my self. I would like the world to know I’m grateful for all my clients and the growth of both of my businesses. I appreciate all the love and support from everyone. I continue to grow each day.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my best friend in a scroll through downtown. We will visit Crown Block and enjoy all of downtown festivities
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My father and kids, no matter what obstacles I face they were very supportive and motivated me to keep going.
A huge shoutout to myself for showing up each day and not giving up. Allowing myself space and time to grow, being present in the moment and showing gratitude and love during the hard times.
