We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalvin Sheesh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kalvin, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Since I graduated high school I’ve always had the desire to do something in the entertainment industry. Coming from a musical theatre background I knew my career path would either be in acting or the music industry. I’ve never hesitated to put my self out there not really worried about the opinion of others just enjoying the journey, staying happy with the decisions I make. Risk taking is a critical part to being a creative director of your own life, without risk there is no reward. Unfortunately a lot of people like to sit around and talk about what they are going to do instead of just putting their ideas into fruition.
All the risks I’ve taken have lead me to great relationships with people I never thought I would meet, and taken me to places I thought I’d never see.
If theirs one thing I can say for any and all up coming artist, stay humble, be kind, and never be afraid to step into the limelight. That light shines wherever you are no matter how big or small it may seem.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What separates me from other artist is my ability to network. When I go to other cities or states I have made an impact on other artists and creators. This has got me inside some rooms that most people don’t have the chance to see. From acting, modeling, dancing, and singing I’ve set my self a part by being a powerhouse in all four areas. Never fearful of any challenges. Another thing that keeps me in my own lane is the ability to create quickly. “Creating on my toes” I like to call it. Sometimes you don’t get the opportunity to prepare so you need that feeling to surge through you in the moment to create a masterpiece. That is a god given gift that some have and others don’t. Both ways are good but time is money in all things. “So either cook somethin, or get out the kitchen”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting Dallas or just the dfw area In general there is many places I would take them. To start I’d probably plan a trip to six flags or hurricane harbor depending on the season. If there is any games going on football, basketball, baseball, hockey, etc.. I’m definitely going to be bringing them to ones of those. I love concerts really any type of show or venue around the city. Dallas has an Incredible nightlife, so I would probably take them to deep Ellum or out in uptown Dallas. Last we would eat and eat and eat. There’s to many restaurants to name at the moment. One of my favorites though is babes chicken in Carrollton. Let’s EAT!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Obviously I will thank my higher power because there is no one who can take themselves anywhere without faith, and trust in your universal guidance. God is good all the time.
There is only one person I would like to thank a genius is his own right.
My producer/engineer Ervin Ablev
From studio Lustforsounds in Los Angeles.
3 1/2 years ago when the world was in a very scary place I was down on myself not knowing what my next move would be.
I called a number I found on Google hoping to find someone to point me in the right direction to make music.
The man on the other end said “I just opened my own studio you should come through, and let’s see what we can put together” The rest is history.
