We had the good fortune of connecting with Josiah Nwankwo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Josiah, what’s your definition for success?
Success, to me, is like a mix of personal and work vibes. Personally, it’s all about being happy and content in life’s different parts – relationships, health, and growing as a person. On the work front, it’s hitting goals that boost my career and business, that will help the whole team or company shine. I like to think of it like a simulation where getting better all the time, being flexible, and bouncing back from setbacks are the real flex.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’d consider myself a multi-talent with a diverse range of skills. An IT Sales professional by day, but my story goes way beyond the 9-to-5 grind. My passion for bringing people together, hosting events, and entrepreneurship has led me to excel in various creative pursuits. Not only a TV personality on MTVs the Love Experiment, but also the visionary behind the Hopeful Hearts Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a positive impact on communities in Nigeria. Also, cant forget to mention that I run a real estate investment company, adding another layer to my portfolio. The road here wasn’t easy, but the challenges fueled my growth. Lessons learned? Adaptability is the name of the game, and every obstacle is an opportunity to level up. My story is proof that you can navigate the corporate world, be an entrepreneur, and still make a positive impact.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The place to be would definitely be either Uptown/Downtown Dallas or Legacy West. The Itinerary kicks off at Salt N Pepper Kitchen for the best Nigerian food in the city – a must have! After that, we’re heading to uptown/downtown for some chill drinks and daytime vibes at Parliament or Saaya. Lastly, find a place for bottle service and reserved section with enough space for us to comfortably tap our toes.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Big shoutout to my immigrant parents. The real MVPs in my life story. They came to America from Nigeria in the early 80s with just dreams, grit, and a crazy work ethic. The way they hustled, sacrificed, and had my back has been the secret sauce behind my success. In a land of chances, they built everything from the ground up. Their journey, with all its ups and downs, has shaped my journey and taught me what success is all about.
