We had the good fortune of connecting with Jolynn Tizeno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jolynn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a kid we always traveled as a family. I had a passion for travel and became the family travel planner. I decided to live out my dream and become a Travel Agency Owner in 2018. I love planning and curating individual and group trips for my clients. We Make Vacation Dreams Come True! I also love mentoring and sharing knowledge with other agents.

What should our readers know about your business?
Myrin’s Destination Station LLC was founded in 2018. I joined a large host agency under mentorship through Jabari White and Maurice Smith.  In 2019, I decided to become my own host agency to better serve my clients and mentor other agents. As a new agent I struggled with client attraction and marketing. I joined several travel agent groups and took classes on brand building, marketing, client attraction and retention. As a host agency, I conduct on-line trainings with my agents and have courses built out for them to aid them. Today I am the travel agent for a social media group of 186K members and hosts several MDS group trips. We have 35 going to Dubai. I like to limit my groups to 40 members per agent traveling to provide the best service. 2023 we have several group trips scheduled to include cruises, Dubai, South Africa, Cartagena Columbia, Jamaica, and Dominican Republic. All of our trips include tours and are curated to provide a unique experience from start to finish.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When family and friends come to town, I love to take them to the Stockyards in Fort Worth, Grapevine, Downtown Dallas, and Deep Ellum. Some favorite food spots are True Kitchen and Cocktails in Dallas that serves amazing food and cocktails. I love the fish, mac and cheese, and fish and grits. Perry’s Steakhouse in Grapevine is a must have. I first tried it in Austin, and I am hooked on it The Stockyards showcases the history of Fort Worth. I have tried several restaurants and haven’t found a bad one yet. Water’s Downtown Fort Worth owned by Jon Bonnell is at the top of my foodie list with their seafood dishes with a Cajun flair. I also always take my guests on a tour of the Cowboys Stadium because many are fascinated by it.

Even if it is a staycation there are many things to do in the DFW Metroplex. I love staying at the Omni Hotel Dallas or Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine with friends when taking in a concert or going to a game in Dallas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to my heavenly parents Joseph and Lena Tizeno for always supporting me and giving me the foundation of professionalism, ethics, and entrepreneurship. I would also like to give thanks to immediately family and clients for all of your support.
