We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Scheuermann and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jill, how do you think about risk?
Taking a risk to fulfill a dream is worth it. If I would not have taken a leap of faith and applied for Injectco’s nurse internship program, I would not be where I am today. Risks can be scary to take sometimes, but if you do not take them, you will never know what you may gain. For me, I gained a rewarding career as a nurse injector, working hours that accommodate my children and my lifestyle, loving on my patients and helping them gain confidence, and true and meaningful friendships that will last a lifetime.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been a registered nurse for 6 years. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington and started my career at Cook Children’s Hospital graduating from their residency program. After completing the program, I landed a full-time position in their neonatal intensive care unit. After being at Cook Children’s for a couple of years, I decided to become a school nurse so that my schedule aligned with my children. I have been a school nurse now for 4 years. While serving children 7th -12th grade, I wanted to add to my credentials and fulfill my dream of becoming a certified injector which is when I began the nurse injector internship program at Injectco. Getting to where I am today has had its many challenges. Throughout Injectco’s internship, I became a single mom, so time and money were tight and a challenge. I knew that I needed to enhance my career and my credentials for my children and their livelihood, so I pushed myself like never before. My children were my driving force for success during that time. The time, energy, and effort that I put in to becoming an injector paid off and landed me a position with Injectco’s fabulous team of injectors. Not only did I fulfill my dream of becoming an injector, I now get to work alongside a group of strong women who are not only my co-workers, but some of my closest friends.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We JUST opened our sixth injectco location in Fort Worth, Texas. I love this city, and our Fort Worth Injectco location is so special! A week-long trip in Fort Worth would consist of lots of eating and drinking at different local bars and restaurants, as well as sightseeing and exploring the city to see all that it has to offer. A day in Fort Worth for a friend and me would start out with brunch at Hash where we would build-our-own Bloody Mary’s and listen to music from a local DJ. We would split two entrees, their Coconut and Almond Encrusted French Toast for something sweet and then their Huevos Rancheros Hash for something savory. Following brunch, we would head on to the stockyards where we would stop at some local shops and explore the brick streets. When ready for an afternoon beverage and a break, we would head over to the Hotel Drover where we would sip some Pinot Grigio out at their Veranda Bar while enjoying the scenic view. At 4pm we would line the brick streets with the other onlookers and enjoy the cattle drive. Following the cattle drive we would head over to Joe T Garcia’s where we would wait in line for our outdoor table with one of their famous margaritas in hand. Once seated, we would immediately order the nachos with extra jalapeño relish as a starter and a pitcher of their margs while we reminisce on our day. All in the city of our brand new location, Fort Worth, Texas!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a HUGE shout out to my entire team at Injectco, and Kiara DeWitt, the founder and CEO of Injectco. Kiara is my biggest cheerleader and supporter. The entire Injectco team is always providing me with opportunities to
grow and enhance my aesthetic talents and skills. Kiara herself always makes herself available to assist with whatever needs I may have and to answer any questions I may not know the answer to. Kiara has become one of my dearest and closest friends. I love growing with this incredible group of ladies that I am so lucky to call family.
