Meet Angelica Kapsis | President of VotRite

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelica Kapsis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angelica, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
VotRite creates social impact by strengthening election security, accessibility, and public trust in the democratic process. Our in-person solution uses customized electronic voting hardware and software, our team delivers cost-effective, user-friendly, and environmentally conscious voting solutions designed to make elections more secure and accessible for organizations and communities. Our technology incorporates Direct-Recording Electronic (DRE) systems, Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) safeguards, and isolated databases, all while avoiding vulnerable features such as hackable downloads, emails, usernames, and passwords to help protect sensitive voter data.
A key part of our community impact is our commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Our newest product, VotRite Mobil, provides COTS mobile software, with a more recent, narrowed focus on increasing accessibility to encourage participation in elections from the total population.
This May, we attended the 73rd Annual Florida Council of the Blind Convention in Orlando, which allowed us to demo our program and receive powerful feedback from attendees who were not only advocates, but drawing from their own lived experiences voting. Their feedback is key in improving our systems, ensuring they protect people’s interests and privacy while maintaining strict ADA compliance and security standards. By using supervised mock ballot sessions to evaluate usability and operational effectiveness, VotRite is helping pave the way for more inclusive voting opportunities and greater civic participation for individuals with disabilities.
In addition, our continued innovation in election technology contributes to more efficient and sustainable voting processes, reducing operational barriers while increasing confidence in secure electronic voting systems. We are proud of the industry recognition and awards we have received, which reflect our incredible growth and future.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
VotRite was built on the belief that voting technology should be secure, accessible, transparent, and easy to use. Under the leadership of myself, Angelica Kapsis, as well as my father, CEO Jim Kapsis, our company has focused on developing customized electronic voting solutions that prioritize both election integrity and voter confidence. What sets us apart is our commitment to combining advanced security measures with real-world usability. Our systems utilize techniques and elements (such as isolated databases and lack of passwords) to eliminate vulnerable access points, protecting confidential information while still being accessible and cost-effective.
The road to where we are today was not easy. The election technology industry requires an extraordinary level of trust, accountability, and scrutiny. As innovators in this space, we faced challenges ranging from overcoming skepticism about electronic voting systems to navigating the complex technical and regulatory requirements necessary to ensure security and reliability. We overcame those challenges by remaining committed to our values, as well as listening carefully to the needs of voters, organizations, and accessibility advocates. Building trust has always been just as important as building technology.
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is that innovation only matters if it genuinely serves people. Technology should simplify processes, increase accessibility, and strengthen confidence- NOT create confusion or barriers. We’ve also learned the importance of resilience and collaboration. Every challenge pushed us to refine our systems, strengthen our mission, and stay focused on long-term impact rather than short-term recognition.
What we want the world to know about VotRite is that we are deeply committed to protecting and improving the voting experience for everyone. Our mission goes beyond just technology; it is about empowerment of everyone, especially those who have historically been ignored in the democratic process.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Visiting Boca is a treat because you are bordering one of the most recently developed cities of Del Ray Beach, Highland Beach, and all of the surroundings are both very real and very elite. Co-existing like the waves off A-1A, which you could take to get to these sweet treats.
So, when we arrive from either PBI or FLL usually (PBI has less traffic for your driver), we have an option to stop for some sushi at Zen in Boca or City Oyster in Del Ray, then usually a siesta if we’ve finished our daily morning routines.
The next day, I am usually feeling stuffed Arepas or Cuban food. We usually roam Atlantic Ave, but don’t be afraid to explore, most of those top-rated experiences for these meals have been food trucks, honestly.
For the rest of the week, if you chose to stay at the Pink Hotel- you’ve won. You can access a day fit for a President, literally- Morimoto, Boats, Spas, and more. If you’re like us, as residents, we come and go for the amenities.
We also dip our toes in the sand at Beach Clubs or the nearly free beaches surrounding most of Florida. Then we can add some jetskii or action when we feel.
When we feel, then we do, happens to be one of the best strategies in Florida, even for a President and any guest for the week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to dedicate our shoutout to the advocates, election professionals, accessibility organizations, and community members who continuously work to make voting more secure, inclusive, and accessible for everyone. In particular, we are grateful to organizations like the Florida Council of the Blind and the individuals who have shared their firsthand experiences and feedback with us. Their insight has helped shape our mission and inspired initiatives like our accessible mobile voting pilot program for Floridians with visual impairments.
We also want to recognize the dedicated engineers, developers, advisors, and team members we call family who have worked tirelessly to build secure, user-friendly voting technology that prioritize both innovation and public trust.
Finally, we owe a great deal of gratitude to our families, mentors, and supporters who believed in our vision from the beginning. Their encouragement and support gave us the confidence to continue pushing forward in an industry where trust, integrity, and accessibility truly matter.
