We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Racca and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In a lot of ways, conventional healthcare has lost the focus on who we are serving, the patient in front of us. I wanted to provide an atmosphere that allowed for people to be heard, stories to be told, and a place that would allow your provider to be able to be fully present and accessible to you.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
R3 Physio was started in February 2020. Obviously, because of the timing, the start was a little slower and rougher than anticipated

We grew, and we expanded. And I think that’s largely due to building a business around solid core values such as.:

1. Put people first

2. Excellence and Integrity: We will do what we say. Purposefully choose what is the harder right over the easier wrong. Care not just about what gets done, but how it gets done.

3. Be Intentionally Disruptive: Choose to think and treat differently than the “norm.” Constantly be innovative with thinking. Fight for those who don’t know how to fight for themselves.

4. Develop an environment where each client feels heard

5. Be a “light” in the medical community of Keller/Ft. Worth that operates in business with a gospel centered focus

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ha! Well, I am a homebody. So I would try to convince them to hang around my house and have some coffee!

But, if we had to go somewhere, likely we would go shooting at a gun range like Shoot Smart. Hit up a taco shop. Take the kids to the Ft. Worth Science and History Museum, the Perot Museum, and the Ft. Worth Zoo.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Along the way, I have always surrounding myself with mentors. Earlier in my career, I surrounded myself with therapists that were much better than me and either were where I wanted to be or were working towards where I wanted to be.

I had a professor in school that inspired and taught from a different perspective.

Later in my career, I had mentors that helped form and shape my perspectives on business.

I’ve chosen to invest my time and learning with organizations that go against the grain, in a lot of ways, of traditional physical therapy. Two main groups are the Institute of Physical Art (which teaches the Functional Manual Therapy approach), and the Barral institute (which teaches visceral manipulation approach)
