We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Bell-ervin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Hello my name is Jasmine Bell-Ervin. I am the founder of God’s Destiny Dance Ministry. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas to Cynthia & Billy Paul. I feel as though my upbringing has made a huge impact on my life because it has truly taught me to be Strong, Humble and Grounded. My life hasn’t always been made easy. Since birth I have been a fighter. Doctors told my parents that I wouldn’t live overnight but I fought. As my mom took me home they said I wouldn’t make it past the age of 6. At the age of 22 I found out that I had a Disease called Turner’s Syndrome. Later on that same year I started to lose my vision… But I have a praying mother and here I am today 33 years and counting. She made sure that in my upbringing We implemented prayer & That has shaped me into the woman that I am today. Her unwavering faith has definitely impacted my life and taught me that with GOD everything and anything is possible.
I wouldn’t change anything that I have been through. My disability doesn’t define me. I am now a wife, intercessor, wonderful cook & dance minister. I want to encourage others & let them know to keep their faith active…No matter what you are going through you will all come out a winner.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the founder of God’s Destiny Dance Ministry. I created this ministry in 2018. God laid this ministry on my heart to show others that no matter what your disability is GOD has still destined you for greatness. I am legally blind and I still praise dance. I let GOD stand in the Gap for me as I go forward in ministry. With my ministry I would like to inspire others to push past their disabilities & hardships. I want them to know that GOD can use anyone as a vessel.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First giving honor to GOD because he ultimately gets the glory out of this. My mother, Pastor Cynthia Houston and my Bonus Dad, Co-Pastor C.W Houston. With out their support and prayers I would not not be the fighter and spiritual activist that I am today. I would like shout out my God-sister/ best friend Jazmen Poullard-Humphries for always supporting me in front and behind the scenes. She has really pushed me into being one of the greatest disability activist. She has always reminded me to never let my disability define who am or what I will become. I would also like shout out my Gigi and pops, Apostle Tweedy Thomas & Co Pastor Thomas for being the greatest spiritual grandparents that I could ask for. They are one of the biggest lights and inspiration to my life. Last but not least I would like to Thank my wonderful husband for being my backbone, my rock and biggest supporter of all times.
