We had the good fortune of connecting with JaShae’ Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JaShae’, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
For we walk by Faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7. This affirmation is valuable. I trust God in everything, even when I cannot see what is ahead. When I decided to start my own business, it began as a hobby. I would take photos just for fun. Eventually, I would add bible scriptures to the pictures and hand them to people. In high school, there was an elective called photojournalism. I was eager to learn about it before I took the class. After taking the class, I learned something new about myself. I was great at photography. Here’s how I made my next decision to continue photography even after high school. Our instructor had the entire class submit photos to this local photography contest. The photo I submitted had a message with the picture of a barn and a field of wildflowers with a bible scripture. Little did I know, I had won 1st place in my 10th-grade year for that image! Ever since then, I’ve been encouraged to pursue photography. I saw how good I was at it and it has stuck with me ever since. Meanwhile, the bible scripture still stands. I learned something new and decided to take a leap of faith and use my gifts and talents to pursue photography and my clients love my work.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I decided to start out with photography in the summer year of 2007 and I added videography and photo booth rentals later in the spring of 2018. I believe to start a business you step out on faith and believe your vision will come to pass as the bible explains, And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: Deuteronomy 28:1. Meaning it will happen and in due time, that’s what I perceived of it. There is one more extension of my business. I still believe that through God’s will it will come to pass, I just have to have the capacity to bring it to fruition. Along with my business and the services I offer, I enjoy making connections with my clients, family members, and friends. When they share their vision with me, I make it a priority to deliver. I love seeing the joy on their faces when they receive their products. It has taken a lot of hard work, prayer, and dedication to reach this point. Being a business owner is not easy; it involves a lot of checks and balances, as well as trial and error. I’ve learned the importance of never giving up and keeping God first in everything I do. I approach my work as if I am doing it unto the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. The Lord has blessed the vision of my business, and I take pride in serving others. Colossians 3:23-24. When people see my brand, I want them to perceive luxury, precision, and quality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them on a tour throughout Dallas, we would eat at Bread Winners cafe for breakfast, then travel to the Dallas Zoo and then the African American Museum, and head to one of the many aquariums Dallas has. Next, we’d go to lunch at Kitchen & Kocktails for some soul food, and then Drakes of Hollywood for dinner and live music. Lastly, we may even catch a movie at the local Cinepolis or Angelika Films theatre. I also love all of the shops, we could travel to the Northpark Mall or Galleria and if we are still hungry we could get some local sushi. We could also catch a show at a local theatre or visit the Addison or Arlington Comedy club. Have wine at a local wine tasting spot and enjoy some authentic vegan Mexican food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to God, my husband Jamere, my mother Jennifer, my sister JaKayla, and my best friend Deborah. They are my biggest supporters, helping to promote my work through word-of-mouth referrals and sharing my posts, ensuring I get the exposure needed to run a successful business. I feel truly blessed and grateful for the meaningful friendships, supportive clients, and valuable connections I have made through local organizations, such as the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce. I know I would not have reached my current level of success without the unwavering support of God, my family, and my friends. Thank you, DFWShoutout, for this opportunity and for allowing me to gain such valuable exposure. I pray that your efforts are fruitful and that you continue to engage with the community, using this platform to promote local shops and businesses. Keep up the great work!
